'Shout It Out' was Patrice Rushen's 3rd and final album for the old Prestige / Fantasy label in 1977 before she sined with Elektra in 1978. While her 'Prelusion' (1974) & 'Before The Dawn' (1975) albums were released on a special 2-on-1 disc, 'Shout It Out' was never officially released by Fantasy, and fans of Rushen's older fusion jazz are missing out. What a shame...it's a great 39 minute album from start to finish, and I just had to remaster it to CD. This album is important to see how Patrice devleoped as an artist, and you get to hear foundations for her future projects on 'Shout It Out'. Patrice's vocals & funk stylings are being used on this CD more so than her 1st 2 albums.
