~Larry~
Mom and Larry - :)
I am doing this page as a thank you to my brother Larry. Without his
love, emotional support and understanding I would have never made it out
of my teen years. The strength that he showed by surviving gave me the
strength to also survive.
I don't have many happy memories of my childhood, but most of the ones
I do have he is a part of. When I was in the 7th grade I went to a
dance at my school. When the dance was over, I called home for a ride.
I was so pleased to hear that my brother with his motorcycle was home.
Somehow I connived my mom into having Larry picking me up from the dance
on his motorcycle. Boy I can still remember the envious looks I got when
up comes this motorcycle with this gorgeous 18 year old on it to pick me
up...LOL.
Having an older brother around with his good-looking friends was a real
treat. Hey, at 12 and 13 what girl doesn't dream of having a boyfriend
who is 17 or 18. I must have driven them all nuts trying to get their
attention. They all treated me with the greatest amount of respect. I
assume that is because Larry and I were so close, and he would have
killed them if they had treated me any other way.
When I was in Junior High, I use to walk to school with a certain
girlfriend every morning. We would stop at a convenience store on the
way to school. It didn't take long till I realized this friend was
stealing from this little store. I am not talking about a couple pieces
of nickel candy either. She would walk out with lots of candy stuffed
into her shirt and in her notebook. I was devastated and worse than
that I didn't know what to do. Big brother to the rescue *S**S*
I grabbed him as soon he came home from work that day and told him the
whole story. I don't remember the exact advice he gave me, but I do
know I took it.
No matter what my problems or silly questions were, he is always made
the time to talk to me about them. I remember looking at him and
thinking what a smart brother I have. I still feel the same about him
now as I did then. God really blessed me when he made me the little
sister to such a terrific brother. Larry I love you so much, and will
not forget all that you have done for me.
