What must I do to be saved?

What you need to know!

The Bible says that we can know for sure that we will have a home in heaven. But first, there are things that you need to know. First, we are all sinners. We have all done something wrong, like lying, cheating, stealing, etc. The Bible says in Romans 3:10 "As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:" Romans 3:23 says, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" These do not reveal anything new to you and me. We can just turn on the television, and see people in sin, but even closer than that, we can look at ourselves and see sin.

Second, There is a price on sin. The Bible says in Romans 6:23, "For the wages of sin is death;" Sin does not just cause a physical death, but a spiritual death also. See, heaven is a perfect place, and if we are not perfect, we cannot enter there. If imperfection enters a perfect place, the place will no longer be perfect. The only other place to spend eternity other than heaven is hell. The Bible describes hell as a place of misery, pain, torment, and darkness. I know that if I had a choice, I would want to go to heaven!

Third, Jesus paid the price on sin. Romans 5:8 says, " But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Even though we are sinners, Christ gave his life on the cross so that we may go to heaven. Christ lived a perfect life, and died to pay our sin debt. It is like being in jail, and someone pays your bail. You are now free to go! This is what Christ did for you! He paid the death on sin, so that you and I can go to heaven!

If Jesus would take you just the way you are, forgive you of your sins, and give you a home in heaven, would you let Him do it?

Romans 10:9-10 says, "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."

All you have to do is take this free gift of eternal life. Remember there was a price on sin! but the verse actually says more than that. Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Sin has a price! Eternal life is a gift! Sin is something that YOU have to pay for. Eternal life is something that is FREE! All you have to to do is take it!

The Bible says "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." All you have to do is ask God to save you and he will do it! It says SHALL BE SAVED, not might, if he does this, if he goes to church, if he gives money, if he is good, the only thing you have to do is call on the name of the Lord!

If you want to know for sure that you will spend eternity in heaven just pray this prayer to God. Remember it is not the words that saves you, but what you beleive in your heart! "Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I am sorry for my sin. I beleive you died on the cross, and I beleive you were raised from the dead. Please come into my heart and save me, and take me to heaven when I die. AMEN!"

How was that? That wasn't hard? But now Christ lives in you! And he is there forever. You never loose your free gift of salvation. The Bible says in Hebrews "I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee" Christ is there forever!
