Note: When I wrote this as a class assignment, I found myself excited. This is a parody of "A Christmas Carol" and I hope you all enjoy it. May the peace of God be upon you all this blessed season, and have a wonderful New Year and Christmas!
Dera walked through the biting cold and into the large building that served as the home of the Gaurdian Scouts on the outskirts of Tokyo. Snow had fallen, and she could hear children playing in the park close by. Her communicator watch beeped and she raised it.
The Queen paused, "The nurse maid that tended me..."
> "Akira, my pretty doll! How are you?"
"Fine thank you Nanna." said the little girl excitedly. "Today is Christmas."
The Queen watched intently as a warm feeling creapt over her as she watched her old nurse maid. Past watched this with a feeling of pleasure.
"I brought you gift, my child." said Nanna, her old wrinkled face, gaining more wrinkles as she smiled at the child.
The Queen frowned, "I cheered them, but where were they when my parents died!"
A small puppy ran into the room and wagged it's tail as it hopped around the sad girl.
"No one loved me anymore." said Akira angrilly and yet sad as she looked accusingly at Past.
"But watch." said Past pointing her hand commandingly.
"Oh, the poor dear." said a maid seeing the girl laying asleep in the floor. "She must have cried herself to sleep. I fear this is going to be a bad Christmas for the dear, loosing her parents and all."
"Thats Yinalia, one of the maids." said the Queen in surprise. "She used to watch me in the gardens while I played. I knew she was watching, but she always dissappeared when I called out to her."
The young maid picked Akira up into her arms and gently carried her to her bed chamber, that was decorated simply with a tree and some candles. She laid her gently in her bed, and a tear fell from her own cheek.
"They never told me." said Akira, mornfully.
Later that night Akira awoke and looked around. A tear slipped from her eye, but she wiped it away determinedly.
"But he never came." said Akira, her voice once again becoming hurt. "They had lied."
Akira began to cry, it was almost morning and the fabled vistor had never shown himself. She stumbled to her feet and grabbed a bag from under her beg. She packed a number of items, while tears streamed down her face. The dog looked at her curiously and she looked at it.
"See!" demanded Queen Akira, "I have every reason to hate Christmas."
Present didn't answer and Akira looked and saw a young child in ragged cloth walking around, her blue hair was long and unkept. She stopped and looked at the display where a Santa Claus had sat. Tears filled the young girl's eyes.
"That girl." said Present. "Believes in Santa Claus. She had loved that display all her life. Her parents abandoned her to live on the streets and she has comes back here to this mall every year, just seen Santa Claus. The man that owns the mall is have financial trouble, and the display will probably nver but replaced."
Two scouts were dead, three others morning. Off aways lay her sons, both obviously dead.
"You're quest to destroy Christmas has cost many lives. Not only have your sons died, but four scouts."
"Is he here yet?" shouted a girl with red hair.
"Who is she?" asked Akira.
When Alyssa finished there was a honking and she looked out the window to see a bussload of kids.
"That is the name of my old..." started Akira.
The older woman came out of the kitchen as the door was opened and the kids streamed in. Instantly both women were assailted by loving children.
"They're so happy." said Akira, her voice filled with kindness.
"Dera, emergency at the central park!" came a sweet voice that could only be Ami Mizu's.
"I'm on my way!" said Dera as she began to run.
She passed under a dark bridge and when she emerged back into daylight she was Sailor Gallilean. She ran faster now, and soon reached the park. She immeadiately saw some of the Sailor Scouts fighting a large monster, while a red haired woman watched on it evil amusement. Then, just as a leathal looking pinecone was about to hit Sailor Moon, she made her entrance by leaping before her protectively and using her staff to stop the cone.
For a moment everything was quiet and both she and the red haired woman looked at eachother. Then things went loud again as Sailor Uranus used a "World Shaking" attack to weaken the monser, and then as Sailor Jupiter added to it with her "Thunder Dragon" attack. Then Sailor Moon stood and healed it.
The woman applouded and they looked at her.
"Very nice. But I'll destroy Christmas." she said.
"Who are you?" demanded Sailor Moon. "And why would you want to destroy Christmas?"
"Because it has no use. I hate everything about it, and I want it stopped." she said and she looked at Sailor Gallilean hatefully.
Gallilean looked surprised and then watched as she vanished, "I'll destroy Christmas!"
Meeting at the Shrine, all of the scouts, except for those who'd left for Christmas vacation, had an emergnency meeting.
"So as I was sitting in the park, that woman appeared and sent that snow monster to attack the ice sculptures and christmas tree that people have been working so hard to make." said Makoto, her green eyes showing her displeasure.
"So she and I transformed and attacked." said Haruka, the oldest one there, as she wiped some blonde hair away from her face.
"Did she say why she wanted to destroy Christmas?" asked Janus, the youngest under Dera's command in the Gaurdian Scouts.
"Only that she hated it." said Mercury, sitting at her computer.
Usagi and Rei watched as she tryped furiously and then Usagi's stomache growled.
Every looked at her and she blushed, "Anyone have something to eat?"
Rei colapsed and Janus smiled and handed her an candy bar, which Usagi wolfed down in a few seconds, which brough on more looks of embaressment.
"Now that Usagi is done acting like a pig," said Rei, rudely, "What should we do?"
"We need to find her before she can do something." said Makoto.
"Split off and search the city." seconded Haruka with a nod.
"Yeah," agreed Dera, "We need to make sure nothing else happens."
"There's one more thing." said Rei, looking pointedly at Dera. "Why did that woman keep watching Dera?"
"What do you mean?" asked Usagi.
"As soon as Dera arrived that woman watched her." said Rei.
Makoto and Haruka looked thoughtfully at Dera and then Makoto snapped her fingers.
"It's the uniform."
Haruka gave her a look of understanding, as did all but Usagi and Makoto smiled, "Dera's uniform is red and green."
"What are those colors normally associated with?" asked Rei proding Usagi.
Usagi elbowed Rei, "I'm not that deft. They're Christmas colors."
"See anything?" asked Jupiter from below.
Gallilean shook her head, "No, nothing at all, everythings nice and quiet."
She jumped down from the top story to the third story roof below. Suddenly they heard a scream and Gallilean half smiled, "Spoke to soon."
Jupiter rolled her eyes and they both took off. They soon came to the mall where a huge hole and be created. They ran inside and saw a monster tearing up anything having to do with Christmas. Just as it was about to cream a reindeer Gallilean leapt up atop a platform.
"Hold it right there you... whatever!" she called.
She heard Jupiter chuckle as she leapt up beside her.
"Ah, the Sailor Loosers." said the red haired woman, appearing from above. "And just the ones I was looking for."
Both looked at eachother slightly worried and then back at the woman.
"You're not going to wreck anyone's Christmas!" said Gallilean, crossing her arms. "We won't allow it."
"We are Sailor Gallilean..." said Dera.
"And Sailor Jupiter! And In the name of the Moon Kingdom," said Makoto.
"And in the legacy of Past, Present, and Future Christmass," said Gallilean.
Both pointed at her in unity, "We'll punish you!"
The woman laughed mockingly and two more people arrived. One was a black haired guy, and another was a blonde haired guy. Immeadiately they charged at the two scouts while the monster continued to thrash the Christmas decorations.
Both fought hard, lashing thier legs and hitting with thier fists in a flurry of movements.
"Jupiter, we need help!" said Gallilean when they had moved back to back.
"Hai." agreed Jupiter and pressed a button on her communicator.
"Anything guys....." started Janus's voice and then trailed off.
"The fifth street mall!" exclaimed Gallilean, in an opening of the assault.
Suddenly a next was throw over both scouts, and they fell to the ground as an electrical current began to shock them. The yelled out in pain and then all went dark.
"Now where are we?" groaned Gallilean as she sat up.
Jupiter looked around, "Who knows, but it isn't Tokyo."
Both sat in the inside a large cage, in a large luxorious room. They were about to stand when the red haired woman walked in. She looked at them and a victoreous smile came over her face.
"And how are my little birds?" she asked them mockingly.
"Where are we?" asked Jupiter.
"Inside the moon." said the woman, smiling evilly.
Both exchanged a surprise look.
"Why did you bring us here?" asked Gallilean.
The woman looked at then shrewdly, "As long as any of you Sailor brats are around, I won't have my way."
"Why not kill us then?" asked Jupiter hotly.
"Because you're going to lead the other Sailor Brats here."
"Why!?" exclaimed Gallilean. "Why do you hate Christmas so much."
The woman glared at Gallilean and raised her hand. Gallilean and Jupiter pulled back, expecting a blast of energy, but instead the room changed to show a palace, filled with people rushing about excitedly.
"When I was a little girl, I greatly awaited Christmas. I was a Princess on earth long ago, before your precious moon kingdom was even set up. But no one cared that my parents had died, they just went about happily. When Christmas arrived, I was forgotten. I had a large party arranged, but no one came." she said as a image of a young girl in red pigtails sat watching her aunts and uncles running about. "Then that night, I hoped and waited for Santa Clause. But he never showed, and it was then that I realized that Santa Claus was a lie, told by my parents. Everything about Christmas was a lie, and I never forgot it."
The woman glared at the intrapped scouts, "I went to the moon, and below it's surface, created by home. I've lived here since then."
"How sad." said Gallilean.
"And you've lived alone all that time?" asked Jupiter, sympathetically.
The woman nodded, "With my sons."
Gallilean sighed, "But that's no reason to take away the Christmas of those on earth!"
The woman came up to the bars and looked angrilly at Gallilean, "It is reason enough."
The woman dissappeared and Gallilean and Jupiter looked at eachother in worry.
"The moon?" asked Uranus looking up at it in the night sky. "Are you certain."
Mercury nodded, while keeping her eyes on her mini computer screen.
"Positive, there signal is weak, but coming from there."
"We need to hurry then." said Titan. "I don't want Dera to die!"
"I'm sure she'd be dead if that was the case." said Mars, supportively.
Sailor Moon held out her hands, "Then we need to go."
The five scouts joined hands.
"Uranus, Planet Power!" shouted Uranus and began to glow with a golden light.
"Mars, Planet Power!" called Mars, and began to glow a red light.
"Titan, Star Power!" called Titan, and began to glow a mixture of purple and pink light.
"Mercury, Planet Power!" called Mercury as she began to glow with a gentle blue light.
"Moon, Planet Power!" shouted Sailor Moon.
There was a flash of light the streaked upwards, and the five were gone, using Sailor Teleport.
"Sailor Pluto!" exclaimed Jupiter in surprise as Pluto stepped out of her time portal.
Pluto looked around and then smiled, "We need to get you out of here. There is going to be a big battle and it will destroy this place."
Pluto opened the cage and both walked out.
"Pluto!" said Gallilean. "I may have a way to stop this battle."
Pluto and Jupiter looked at Gallilean in surprise.
The red haired woman, Queen Akirah sat in her main room with her sons.
"What will you do with those two girls mother?" asked the black haired son, Gelin.
Akirah sighed and looked at them, "Once I am gone, you will have no one. Those two girls will make very excellent mates for you once thier minds had been wiped off thier errors."
The second son, Telin looked at his mother in surprise, "You must be kidding!"
The Queen shook her head, "They are good fighters, and will do you both well."
An alarm went off and the queen stood, "The prisoners have escaped!"
Another alarm went off, signaling that the scouts from earth were coming and both young men looked at thier mother in alarm.
"Take as many Skal Troops as you wish, and hold off the scouts above. I'll find the two down here."
The two ran off and the Queen stood, only to be suddenly held back. A figure wreathed in golden light appeared before her.
"Who are you!" demanded the queen.
"I am the ghost of Christmas past." said the figure, sounding familiar.
"What?" asked the Queen, her eyes large.
"I am the Ghost of Christmas past." said the figure once more. "You've lost faith in Christmas, and I am here to help you regain it."
The Queen backed away and swatted at Past's hand, "Never! I will never be any part of Christmas!"
"But you already are." said Past softly.
The Queen tried to moved away, but something stopped her. Past touched the Queen's forehead softly and the sceene changed. She was in the castle on earth.
"Where have you brought me?" demanded the Queen.
"I have brought you to your past." said Past.
"No!" gasped the Queen.
"Nanna!" called a little girl with red pigtails as she boded down the stairs.
"Oh Nanna!" exclaimed the young Akira, wrapping her arms around her friend. "Thank you."
"Akira! Your father is home!" called a man.
Akira turned and ran foward, her father, a tall man with dark hair stood with a large bundle on her back. He set it down in time to envelope his daughter in a hug.
"And how has my Akira been?"
"She's been the star of the evening." said a man in official looking clothing. "She has been bringing great cheer to the people here."
"That's my precious daughter." said the King.
Past waved something in her hands and the scene changed again. It was the same, except for a sad looking girl.
"Not this." said the Queen turning to Past with pleading eyes. "Please."
"Watch." said Past in a gentle voice.
"They're all gone Tuffet." said the girl sadly. "Mommy and Daddy. Even Nanna."
The dog tilted it's head and then whimpered as if understanding. Akira sat down next to the dog.
"No one will even look at me, now that they're gone." she said in barely a whisper.
The dog liked her hand as she patted it's head and she half smiled at it while a single tear slid down her cheek.
"Oh, Daddy..." she whimpered and curled up.
She fell asleep sobbing and the puppy curled up at her feet.
"Dear Princess. Everyone is afraid to tell you how sorry they are. We all wish we could have stopped what had happened. We never wanted to see you hurt." she said a tearful voice. "We're going to have a party for you tommorow. You're parents had been planning it for a few days. But, since they died, we haven't been able to face you. Please don't be too lonely, things will be better in the morning."
The puppy whimpered and she picked it up and placed it on the bed next to the young Akira, "Take care of her till morning."
The young girl left the room.
"There is more." said Past softly, while laying a hand on the Queen.
"Father wouldn't want me to cry." she said in a determined voice.
She got out of her bed and walked over to a cushioned chair. Then she looked at her clock.
"Santa Claus is coming soon." said Akira, her heart begining to grow excited. "Maybe I can ask him to bring my parents back!"
She sat and waited for hours.
"We're going away Tuffet." she said. "No one will miss us."
The dog gave a small bark and wagged his tail. She finished packing her bag and opened her window.
"Come here boy!" she called.
The dog looked at her a moment and whimpered before turning and running out of the room. Tears began to run down her face and she climbed out of the window.
"Even Tuffet doesn't like me anymore." she said in a hurt voice. "I hate Christmas."
"You have had much saddness Akira, but you caused much too."
Once again they were in the throne room.
"All those servents worked days to create the biggest party of the Kingdom for you. When Yinalia went to your room the next morning she was heart broken to find you gone. The whole castel searched for you for years, till only Yinalia was left. She died of a broken heart."
"I don't care!" said Akira in a hard voice.
Past sighed and suddenly the light was gone. Akira stood uninhibited from her throne and left the room to find the two scouts.
"We're almost there." said Gallilean as they creapt towards the entrance of the underground prison.
Jupiter nodded and followed Gallilean steathfuly. Suddenly a gate slammed close over the enterance, and Queen Akira appeared before them smirking.
"Going somewhere Sailor brats!?"
"Let us go!" demanded Gallilean.
"I'm afraid not." said Akira, and this time did fire a bolt of energy at them.
Gallilean was hit and flew up against the wall. She slid to the ground, unconsious.
"Gallilean!" exclaimed Jupiter running over to her.
"You're next." said Akira, as she fired once more.
Jupiter grabbed Gallilean around the waist and ran as fast she could.
Akira laughed, "You can't escape me! I know these corridors like the back of my hand!"
Suddenly things seemed to stop and a girl in a long green dress with a laural wreath in hair long brown hair appeared, glowing in a gentle red glow.
"Who are you?" asked Akira.
"I am the ghost of Christmas Present." said the youthful girl.
"What do you want."
"As Past before me, I am here to show you your part in Christmas." said Present.
"No! I refuse to be dragged along again!" said the Queen moving away.
"You have no choice." said Present, her voice tinkling with a jolly laugh.
The sceene changed to the earth once more and to the mall.
"Why did you bring me to this dump?" asked Akira.
Queen Akira felt a twinge of guilt and turned away, "I don't want to see this."
Present waved her hand and the scene changed. They now stood on the moon.
"No!" She screamed when she saw the sight.
"Four?" asked Akira looked at Present with tear stained eyes.
"While the battle raged above the caves below colapsed. Both scouts you had trapped died. They called out for help, but no one could hear them over the fighting above."
"I had no idea." said Queen Akira, looking truely sorry.
"But not all on Christmas is sad." continued Present, ignoring the cry of inocense.
The scene changed and Queen Akira recognized the area she was in as a part of America.
"Where are we?" she asked.
"In Hawaii, where another scout celebrates her Christmas without knowledge of what has happened ealier on the moon." answered Present.
"No dear." answered an elderly woman.
The girl continued to decorate in a hurried fashion.
"That is Alyssa." every year, she has gone home to Hawaii where she has held a party for the orphans at a local orphanage."
"They're here Nanna!" shouted Alyssa.
"Thanks Steve." said Alyssa, smiling out at the driver.
The man gave her a thumbs up and drove off. Over the next hour the children laughed, opened presents, ate, and sang.
"It is the Christmas spirit." said Present. "The love of that girl has filled everyone around her."
The scene changed and they were once again in the room.
Immeadiately Akira frowned, "I may fail with my mission today, but I will destroy Christmas."
Present looked at her sadly and vanished. Then, a moment later Queen Akira vansihed too. Makoto transformed and looked at the now conscious Dera as she transformed back into herself again as well.
"It's up to Pluto now. And the others." said Jupiter.
Gallilean cast a glance up at the ceiling, which showed signs of preasure.
"Lets hope so. Our lives depend on it." said Gallilean.
"Look, it's the red haired woman!" said Titan pointing a finger.
All fighting stopped and they looked at Queen Akira.
"Where are my friends!" demanded Sailor Moon.
"Where you won't find them!" declared Queen Akira, harshly.
She raised her hand and blasted the five scouts away from her sons who had been cornered.
"Mom!" exclaimed Telin, gratefully.
Gelin and Telin leapt of next to her and she looked at each of them, "Go down and find the girls quickly, then move to the north end of the fortress. I'll take care of this."
Both young men nodded and vanished and she looked at the other scouts with venomous eyes. She looked at the leader, Sailor Moon hatefully and struck her with a force of energy. Sailor Moon cried out, and was thrown back, smashing into a wall and crumling there in a heap.
"Sailor Moon!" exclaimed Mercury, Mars, and Uranus.
"How could you!" shouted Titan, and she ran forward.
But before the young, aqua haired girl could act, Akira stuck her down too, and she was struck accross the ground, creating a creator from the imact. Uranus ran to the smaller girl and when finding her dead looked up at Akira. Suddenly there was a dark light as things once again froze and a figure in a dark cape rose from the ground before her. Akira gasped and made a guess.
"You must be Christmas Future."
The figure nodded, a glave shining in Future's right hand.
"I suppose you're going to take me somewhere too?"
The figure nodded and they dissappeared. When the reappeared it was on the moon.
"Now what?" she asked imaptiently.
Future pointed to the earth and Akira looked, and her eyes widened. The earth was under complete darkness, and it's people moved like pupets.
"By killing Sailor Moon this is what will happen. Other enemies came to earth and destroyed it after you. You destroyed the leader of the scouts and went on to destroy the Christmas for them. You succeeded, but also caused the downfall of the planet. Hate lead you down a dark path, Queen Akira, and the people of earth knew you only as a stealer of hope and destroyer of dreams."
The words from Future were spoken so harshly tha Queen Akira felt as though she'd been slapped.
"Surely Christmas wasn't that important!"
"How did it affect you when you lost it Queen Akira?"
Akira looked stunned, "Surely this may not come to be."
"The future is what one makes of it. You've taken the first steps already by killing those two scouts."
Akira faulter as she realized what had happened.
"Send me back!" she cried suddenly, "I can stop this!"
There was a flash and she was back where she had been.
"Mother, there was a colapse in the cave!" exclaimed Gelin appearing.
Queen Akira paled and vanished as Telin appeared.
"Someone help!" shouted Gallilean from where she lay pinning beneath a large chunk of rock.
Jupiter stuggled to lift it, but it was to heavy. Suddenly Queen Akira was there, helping her. Jupiter didn't ask, but worked with her. A moment later Gallilean was free.
Jupiter held her cousin in her arms and looked at Akira.
"Come, we must hurry if I am to change hat has happened." said Akiru as she gripped Jupiter's arm.
Both vanished and rappeared up above.
"My sons!" exclaimed Queen Akira.
She ran to the boys, tears staining her face. Mars, teary eyed saw Jupiter holding Gallilean and ran to them.
"They're dead!" she exclaimed, pointing to Sailor Moon and Sailor Titan.
Jupiter let Gallilean down and ran with Mars to where to the two bodies now lay. Gallilean looked over to where Queen Akira morned and painfully limped over to her.
"Akira, " she said gently. "I am sorry."
Queen Akira looked at Gallilean saddly, "You shouldn't be. All of this is my doing."
Suddenly Gallilean changed back into Dera, in jeans and a t'shirt.
"Akira," she said pulling something out of of a bag that was hanging for her sholder and placed it in her hand. "Merry Christmas."
Akira faultered and looked at the small wrapped present and then looked at Dera.
"Why?"
"Because it's Christmas." said Dera gently. "And because a friend asked me to give it to you."
Queen Akira opened the present slowly and found a delicately carved doll, no bigger than her palm.
"Santa Claus apologizes, but when he came into your room, you were gone. He didn't wish to leave it to anyone, and kept it for you."
Tears sprung from Akira's eyes and she hugged Dera tightly. Suddenly the tears began to glow and they floated from her eyes. They touched her sons and then sailor over to Sailor Moon and Titan where the also gently splash. The four bodies glowed and the boys sat up.
"Mom?" they asked.
Over by Dera's friends, Sailor Moon and Titan awakened. Then Pluto appeared.
"Akira, I have come to give you a chance to go back." said Pluto.
Queen Akira looked at Pluto, her eyes filled with joy.
"You would do that?" she asked.
Pluto nodded.
"Merry Christmas, Queen Akira.
In the palace an woman walks quietly through the halls, sadness showing in her eyes. Like every Christmas morning she walked to the bedroom of the young Princess, hoping that somehow she would find the girl. She opened the door and tears sprung to her eyes as she saw a young woman in the room.
"Yinalia!" greeted the woman with long red hair. "I have returned!"
The maid began to cry and hug the woman.
"Yinalia, I have a long story to tell you, but first, I want you to meet my sons!"
The castle buzzed with activity as people rejoiced at the return of the Princess who had been to the future. People came from all over and that night Telin looked up at the moon.
"One day I will create a kingdom on the moon." he murmered and then he ran off to join the festivities.
"Merry Christmas!" exclaimed Dera joyfully as she handed presents to her friends present.
"Merry Christmas!" exclaimed the others cheerfull.
"Dera." said Haruka later, when she pulled her over, "What made Queen Akira change her mind like that."
Makoto walked over and smiled, waiting to see what Dera would answer while Setsuna followed.
"Lets say she was visited by the Christmas Spirits." said Dera.
Setsuna and Makoto smiled at her answer and Haruka looked at them in confusion.
"I don't follow." she said.
"I might tell you one day." said Makoto, patting the older friend on her back.
Haruka chuckled and walked away.
"You make a good Christmas Present." said Dera, chuckling at Makoto.
"Well, you made a good Past." said Makoto. "I can't believe you actually wore a bed sheet!"
"Hey, she didn't notice." said Dera good naturedly.
"And I made a good Future." said Hotaru, aka, Sailor Saturn, coming up behind them.
Both girls jumped and Setsuna laughed, "And I made it possible!"
The three girls smiled and hugged Setsuna, "Yeah. Thanks for bringing Hotaru here from the future!"
Setsuna smiled, "You're welcome. But now, we must be going. Saturn has her own party to be at."
The two girls nodded and Setsuna went and bid farewell to everyone. Janus bid farewell to her cousin, Hotaru and then they all waved as they left through Setsuna's time portal.
"Merry Christmas!" they called out as the portal closed.
