The scouts were silent as the fire burned brightly in the domed room.
"...And so we honor the Sailor Scouts that gave up their lives fighting for their Queen and Kingdoms. Sailors Uranus, Neptune, Saturn, Jupiter, and Athena, we will remember your names for all times." said the young girl in flowing red robes.
The girl raised her hand and number of flower petals dropped from her hand and fluttered into the flickering flames of the fire.
"Rest in peace till we meet once more." said Lady Rei solemnly.
The girls nodded and murmured in agreement. Janus was the first to walk forward and threw in five roses : a gold, an aqua-blue, a purple, a green, and a light red. One by one the other scouts, and friends of the deceased came up and placed roses into the fire. Soon a perfume filled the room, and a gentle hew of different colors swirled about the ceiling.
"Till we meet again." promised Dera quietly watching the flames.
A day later Janus sat in one of the meditation gardens, quietly thinking of Hotaru, her uncle, and her father.
"Greetings Lady Janus." said a soft voice.
Janus looked back to see two robed figures, their faces hidden by the hoods.
"Who are you?" she asked.
"We are the keepers of the garden you are in." said the one on the left with a soft voice that sounded almost like the first's.
"It's very lovely." said Janus with a smile.
"Thank you." said the one on the right.
A slender hand appeared from underneath both girl's robes and almost at the same time, they retracted the hoods revealing two girls who looked almost identical, except for their hair coloring.
"Are you Princess Rei's sisters?" inquired Janus in fascination.
The girl with a lighter black hair color smiled, "Yes. My name is Ebony."
"And I'm Opal." said the midnight haired twin. "Do you mind if we keep company with you?"
"No not at all." said Janus, pleasantly surprised.
The two girls sat on either side of Janus and they looked out of the serene pond that reflected the light of the twin moons of Phobos and Deimos above.
"Did you make this place on your own?" asked Janus looking around.
"Yes." affirmed Ebony.
"All princesses of Mars make a garden of their own." informed Opal, her dark blue eyes shining cheerfully.
"It is said that each garden made has brought peace to anyone who has graced it for a moment." said Ebony, her voice faded off in a dreamy state. "So the princesses make the gardens for people to take refuge in."
Janus sighed and placed her head onto her hands as her elbows sat on her crossed legs.
"Then it must be true." said Janus in a whisper, "Because I feel as though all my pain is merely a memory."
Opal smiled and laid an arm over Janus's hunched form. Janus looked up and then upwards as Opal pointed. The three girls held their breath as a comet flashed across the stars.
"What did you wish for?" asked Opal quietly.
"I wished that I could avoid the dark void." whispered Ebony.
"Dark void?" questioned Janus.
"Rei had a vision not a fortnight ago." said Opal. "She saw Ebony and I standing before a blue flame that flared up and struck us. Then a dark pit opened below us and we fell downwards into a dark void."
Janus shivered despite herself.
"Did you wish anything?" asked Ebony looking at Janus.
Janus smiled darkly, momentarily forgetting what she'd been told.
"I wished that I could die fight Beryl."
Opal and Ebony became very silent as if something had clicked within them. Janus's eyes widened slightly as both girl's forehead's glowed and the image of a small shield with the image of a feather appeared on both their foreheads.
"You're Sailor Guardians!" exclaimed Janus in surprise.
Opal blinked in surprise and Ebony breathed heavily as the sensation died off.
"We need to tell Rei!" gasped Opal.
Janus and Ebony stood up and followed Opal out of the gardens.
The three arrived in Rei's throne room to find it a tizzy of activity.
"What's going on?" asked Opal managing to pull aside on of there generals.
"The Negaverse has attacked and Princess Rei and the other scouts ran off to fight them." said the general and then hurried off.
"This isn't good." said Janus. "They'll need our help."
Opal and Ebony nodded.
"Titan, Star Power, Make-up!" she shouted.
Suddenly all eyes in the room turned to them and watched as Janus changed into Sailor Titan. Everyone was silent till she was done and then began to murmur in surprise. Opal and Ebony blushed slightly but then found themselves lifting their hands into the air.
"Deimos, Phobos, Twin Arrection!" they both shouted as one.
Two identical henshin wands appeared in their outreached hands and flashed with a dazzling light. Black feathers spun about them from the ground as the two began to dance about each other in the gentle whirlwind of feathers. The feathers gradually covered them creating hip high boots, long gloves, a short leather shirt and a short leather top. They stopped dancing about each other and stood facing different directions, an arm over their foreheads.
"Wow." said Titan looking them over. "You're uniform is certainly different then the normal."
Opal, now Sailor Deimos blushed and looked at herself. Phobos gently tugged on both girls looking at the awed crowd.
"Come on. Lets go." she whispered.
Janus blushed now and nodded, "Right."
Deimos and Phobos ran out of the throne room with Titan close behind. As soon as they were gone, there heard talking begin again.
Sailor Mars' raven black blew out gently behind her as she shot a number of Negaverse goons with her fiery arrows with little mercy. Nearby was Sailor Nereid, who was sending cascades of water down upon her opponents.
'The Guardians are all discouraged. They're not fighting well.' Sailor Mars though rather peeved as she fought.
Suddenly balls of fire shot down from the sky, pummeling the Youma around Charon and Solaris at the other side of the field. At the same time a chain of fire was seen whipping about the heads of Youma, moments before those were set aflame. Then a large dome of dark light arose between the two areas where fire was breaking loose.
'What's going on?' she wondered inwardly as she continued fighting.
The large army appeared around the battle grounds, each bearing the shields of Venus. Their leader looked out over the field of slain Martians and Negaversains and raised her hand. Immediately the army was silent and watched her signal's as she indicated to the battle father away where large explosions sent tremors that where felt at their feet.
Finally she waved her hand. A shout went up and she and her army surged forward. The Youma turned from their fights and shrank back in fear of the swarming armies.
"In the name of love and justice, I am Sailor Venus! I'll teach you all to mess with the Moon Kingdom!" shouted the female leader from atop her white stallion.
The Youma started to back down, but their generals prodded them forward.
"Venus, Heart Break!" shouted Sailor Venus, standing atop her horse.
She began to glow with a gentle pink light as she clasped her hands to her chest. She smiled sweetly and then flung her arms outwards. A giant pink heart appeared between her hands and then shot into a number of Youma, dusting them almost instantly.
"Looks like we have more help!" exclaimed Phobos looking to Deimos and Titan.
The two girls grinning and gave thumbs up.
"Looks like Beryl's campaign ends here!" shouted Titan joyfully.
"Yeah. Maybe we..."
Whatever Deimos was going to say was cut off as a shout rose up and a large sphere appeared in the sphere.
"I don't like this." said Phobos simply.
A moment later it began to rise, while a lone Youma stood atop it victoriously. Inside the sphere was Gallilean and Oberon, and both were unconscious.
"We're going after them." said Sailor Mars suddenly beside them.
"What?" asked Phobos in surprise.
"No time. You two Guardians come with me. Titan, stay and tell the others and protect my planet." said Mars, not recognizing that the two she'd commanded were her sisters.
Titan stepped back as Mars took hold of the two scouts hands and began to glow. A second later they were gone.
"Good luck." she called out to the sky before heading back into battle.
"What are your attacks?" asked Sailor Mars as they streamed after the Youma and it's two captives.
"I have Comet Fire." answered Phobos shyly.
"And I have Fire Chain." said Deimos.
Mars nodded in approval while she directed their flight.
"What moon or planet are you from?"
Phobos and Deimos looked at each other shyly.
"We represent Phobos and Deimos." said Deimos.
Mars swiveled her head to look at them and then a look of total recognition came over her face.
"Ebony!?" she half exclaimed looking at Phobos and then looked at Deimos, "Opal!?"
The girl's nodded and were surprised to see her smile.
"How do you like it?"
"It's new." said Phobos. "But I don't like the suite."
"It certainly is different." agreed Mars, "But we'll get used it."
Suddenly a shot blew past them and Mars turned her attention to the Youma who'd stopped and was no firing balls of Negaverse energy at them.
"Fire Chain!" shouted Deimos as Mars slowed.
She twirled the fire chain in her hand a moment and then released it. It flew true and smashing into the Youma, who cried out and was blown a few yards away from Gallilean and Oberon who were awake, but still trapped in the sphere.
"Mars Fire Flash!" shouted Mars, sending a wave of intense fire towards the sphere with a wave of her hand.
There was an explosion and when it cleared the sphere still held the two scouts, but it's structure had many cracks, showing it had been weakened immensely.
"One more should do it." said Mars as she prepared for another attack.
However, before she could act the Youma send a large projectile through the air and went through Mar's chest. She screamed in pain and the Youma laughed.
"So ends one more Sailor Pest." crowed the Youma.
"Rage of Fire!" shouted Sailor Mars, gathering the remaining strength she held and raised her hands above her head.
A large ball of fire gathered between hands and grew larger till she glared at the Youma and threw it forward. It began to spin as it flew forwards and the Youma didn't make a sound as it was enveloped in the fireball and destroyed.
"Rei!" gasped Phobos, instantly going to her sister's side.
Mars half smiled as Deimos also came to her side.
"Don't worry. We'll meet again. I've seen it." said Mars as she placed a hand on both her sisters.
"Oh Rei." moaned Phobos with tears in her eyes.
Deimos felt tears too, but pushed them back.
"We'll have revenge on Queen Beryl." said Deimos. "Your death won't go unavenged."
Mars half smiled and then spasm as she began to cough up blood.
"Take care of yourselves." she said as he eyes closed.
Phobos cried harder and Deimos bit her lower lip. Mar's chest rose one finally time and then her body shuddered as it shut down. Deimos stood silently and turned to the two scouts who looked sad too.
She walked away from Mars, leaving her sister to care for the body and began to sail towards the sphere. She was a few feet away when she was struck from the side. She flew off a feet and then turned to see a white haired general and none other than Queen Beryl herself a few yards back from him with a number of other guards.
Phobos left the dead body and folded her hands below her chin.
"Comet!" she called out and fire balls appeared around her head and began to circle, illuminating her tear stained cheeks.
"Fire!" she shouted and watched as the fire streaked up into the upper space and then soured downwards like fiery comets.
The general shouted out in pain as he was struck several times.
"Fire Chain!" shouted Deimos, anger in her eyes.
Instantly a chain of fire appeared in her hand and she began to swirl it around her body, making the chin of fire grow longer. Deimos aimed at the sphere and released the chain. It struck the sphere and shattered it instantly, releasing Oberon and Gallilean who flew out in a slightly daze, weakened from the sphere's energy.
"No!" shouted Beryl. "Get me those scouts!"
The other soldiers cried out in battle and flew forward but Phobos and Deimos got in their way.
"In the name of Mars, and our dead sister, you aren't getting through Nega-creeps. Leave us before we kill you all!"
The army didn't pause and Phobos and Deimos pulled out a number of papers at the same time.
"Rin, Pyou, Tou, Sha, Kai, Jin, Retsu, Sai, Zen. Akuryou Taisan!" the scouts as if one voice and pegged each of the General and Youma's foreheads with the papers and freezing them in place.
"Your interference is unaccepted Sailor Brats." said Beryl angrily. "You will die!"
A strange crystal appeared in Beryls hand and he pointed it at them.
"Orb of Orion, I command thee. Change these two into animals!" she shouted.
A streak of blue shot from the crystal and struck the two scouts. They screamed in unison and slowly began to morph. Gallilean looked away and Oberon looked sicked as they slowly changed into two ravens.
The two birds flapped about a moment, glowing with a red aura and flew towards Mars' body as Beryl advanced with heartless laughter.
"You're going down here Beryl!" screamed Gallilean, raising her hands, her Guardian sign of a shield with a lightning bolt appearing on her forehead.
Beryl looked skeptical as Oberon crossed her arms, her sign appearing on her forehead of a shield with a crystal ball with an overlaying wand on it. Beryl shied away from the two scouts as they began to glow brighter and move towards her and her frozen army.
"Cosmic Lightning!" screamed Gallilean raising her fist into the air.
"Web of Enchantment!" shouted Oberon, pushing her palms outward before her.
Lightning shot from Gallilean's hands and white light streamed from Oberon's. Both attacks flew forward and struck Beryl. She screamed as bright light erupted around her and her army. The two crows cried out in victory as they watched and ever Mars' body glowed.
The explosion died away and everything grew quiet as a lone figure remained standing, although obviously wounded badly.
"You're kingdom will fall scouts and I will kill all of you before I am done!" said Beryl in a pained and hateful voice.
There was a flash of light, and she vanished. Gallilean and Oberon looked at each other a moment, drained of all power and then feinted. The two crows dragged the two weightless bodies over to Mars and began to glow.
~ We lived a good life. ~ said Phobos.
~ It's only right that we give it this way. ~ agreed Demos.
~ Good bye Gallilean, leader we never really knew. ~ said Phobos gently.
~ Farewell Oberon, her friend. Both take care of Rei's body. ~ said Deimos, her voice breaking slightly.
The two crows rose a few feet above the three bodies and began to glow.
"MARS TERRESTRIAL FIRE TELEPORTATION!"
Fire shot up around the scouts and the two birds and caused them to vanish together....
