State Camp 1999
Here are some photos from our State Camp held at Douglas Scrub (Girl Guide Campsite) in September. There were over 400 girls & leaders on camp for a whole week.
The girls had a great time (didn't want to come home!) - the leaders are still recovering!

The Famous Five!
Here are the girls from our Unit who went to State Camp.
It's all too much for them!
Singing along to the Karioke music at the opening ceremony.
The first day was spent at Greenhills Adventure Park trying all the activities including the water slides & giant bouncer.
Building a Treehouse
Here are the girls building a "City in the trees". They voted this the best activity on camp! They select a platform and are given a bunch of poles, rope and tarpaulins to
build their treehouse with and then they have to sleep in it overnight.
Campfire Cooking
Another favourite activity - campfire cooking! Depending on their age and experience, each girl got to do something different. Some did trangia cooking, some did reflector oven cooking,
some made their own cooking equipment using foil and coathangers. All very interesting and the best part was that they got to eat it afterwards!
Jelly Wrestling
This activity was a firm favourite with all the girls on camp, they were lining up to have a go! We discovered that jelly stains people as well as clothes - there were a lot of red knees and hands when they were finished!
