The Mystery Men theory
In Path of Daggers, we see Cyndane and Moghedien jump inot a place and talk with someone (i forget who). they
mention that they are serving Moridin, who has been made Naeblis by the Dark One.
So, we know Moridin is Naeblis.
We know from Moghedien that Moridin suffers from Saa, which is caued by EXCESSIVE use of the True Power (not to be
confused with the One POwer- TP can only come from he Dark One, and is only available to the Forsaken). So, we know
Moridin uses the True Power a whole heckuva lot. We also Moridin is from the Age of Legends, cause he understands the
game he is playing in the proloue to PoD. The Stones game, with the Fisher.
Okay, remember the Watcher? from Crown of Swords? He had Saa too, and we know from Moghedien, that using the
True Power enough to get Saa is very very very extremely rare.
So, is it possible that the Watcher and Moridin are the same? possibly. lets lok at some more facts.
The Watcher knows Graendal and Sammael. The Watcher has extensive knowledge of the Age of Legends. Who all is
from the Age of Legends?
Well, the Forsaken, and Lews Therin, and Birgitte, and the Heroes of the Wheel (some of them anyway).
of them, who would know Sammael and Graendal?
The Forsaken and Lews Therin.
Lews is in Rand's head. Therefore, only the Forsaken are left, leading me to believe that the Watcher is one of the
Forsaken.
Moridin is Naeblis, and that is an honor to be bestowed on one of the Forsaken, so theres another link between the two.
Now, we know that Moridin wears dark clothes. He is seen in Crown of Swords wearing black pants, and a black shirt with
white lace. there is red piping on his pants. He's tall.
well, thats all well and good, but so what?
Remember the Shadar Logoth Wanderer?
He was wearing a Black Cloak, and he was about as tall as Rand. When Mashidar attacks them, they BOTH use Balefire.
Rand uses the One Power, and however the Wanderer does it, Rand doesn't feel it. Interestinly enough, he wouldn't have
felt it if the Wanderer had used the True Power.
Add into that equation the fact that the Wanderer left Shadar Logoth without Rand feeling it, and we have strong
evidence that the Wanderer uses the True Power.
Huh, yet another one who uses the TP? Interesting. Well, The Wanderer also seems to have some knowledge of the way Sammael acts and thinks.
"He likes to destroy men near the site of one of their greater victories, or achievements" is what he says about Sammael.
So, apparently he knows Sammael very well. Could this be because he is also from teh Age of Legends? mayhap, but just
cause you're from the age of legends doesnt mean you know every little facet of the Forsaken's lives.
hmmm. Wanderer might be a Forsaken. So, here we see some proof that all three of these mystery men might be
Forsaken, and we see proof that they all mith be fromt he Age of Legends.
well, assuming they are Forsaken, who?
Well, not Be'lal, Rahvin or Asmodean, since they got Balefired, and even the Dark One cannot ressurect them fromt he
FINAL DEATH.
It isn't Sammael, since Rand was hunting Sammy when the Wanderer showed up, and the Watcher was watching Graedal
and Sammael.
It isn't Graendal.
It isn't Moghedien, since She's in Thrall to Moridin.
that Leaves Demandred, Aginor, Balthimel, Lanfear, Ishamael, Messaana, or Semirhage.
Well, Agi and Balthy are Aran- and Osan'Gar respectively, Lanfear is stuch in *-Finn land (and wont get be seen until
Thom and Perrin go into the Tower of Gehnjei to rescue Moiraine), and Demandred is possibly masquearading as Taim.
that Leaves Ishamael Semirhage and Messaana.
Semirhage, as seen in Path of Daggers is hanging out in Caemlyn under the guise of Lady Shiane, and Mesaana is in the
White Tower (possibly Danelle or Verin).
Ishamael is dead.
Or is he?
The Lord of the Grave. So, who was the only Forsaken free during the 3000 years between lews and Rand?
(Ishy.)
Who was the Only Forsaken free to wreak havoc on the World, and prepare it for the Dark One's eventual rise to the World?
(Ishy, bo bishy.)
Who served the Dark One Faithfully for over 3000 years while the rest of the Forsaken went and got themselves stuck in
Shayol Ghul?
(Fanana-fanna fo fishy.)
Who has not been Balefired, yet died and not been obviously reincarnated?
(me-mi-mo mishy.)
Who would be the most obvious candidate for Naeblis, since he was trhe only capable of serving te DO's will for the time
they were all trapped?
(Ishy.)
But wait, you say, why would he let Rand live n Shadar Logoth?
He hated Rand! He wouldn't let him live after being defeated thrice by him.
or Would he?
The moon by day, and te sun by night.
Blind, deaf woman, jackdaw fool.
Let the Lord of Chaos Rule."
Remember that? Let The Lord of Chaos Rule.
An explicit instruction from Shaiy to Demmy. Ishy was just following directions, seems to me. As Naeblis, he would do that.
so, theres my take on it. The Watcher, the Wanderer and Moridin are all the same person, and they are all Ishamael.
