Sleepy Hollow

Tim Burton's take on the Legend of Sleepy Hollow.

COnstable Ichabod Crane is called to the town of Sleepy Hollow to solve the mystery of several murders that have happened recently. When he arrives, he hears tale of a headless horseman, the ghost of an old Hessian, who haunts the western woods, lopping off heads left and right when he get's the chance.

He, of course, does not believe these tales, even when confronted by the evidence.

He doesn't believe it until he is brought face to... well, scratch that. Brought into a confrontation with the headless horseman, immediately following which is some truly funny dialogue.

So, he reconciles himself to the idea of a ghost, and goes out to stop it. Along the way, he discovers a conspiracy, a twisted family tree, and a dark secret of the town of Sleepy Hollow.

The action was awesome. The plot was terrific. The atmosphere was perfect. There was very little sex. About all it came down to was the sight of two people in the woods, where it is implied they are having sex, and of course, the ladies are all nearly falling out of their dresses. There is no cursing, but there is an R Rating anyway, due to the EXTRMELEY graphic nature of the violence

But that doesn't hinder the greatness of this movie. I give it Five Field Mice.

And, as always, Ebert can have the Balcony, the Sneak Previews guys can have the Aisle seats. I want the exact middle!
