Epilogue

Interlude II

Over the next few years, Micah missed her terribly, wishing that he could have been with her. he remembered her smile, the way it lit up his world, and wished he could see it one more time.

He remembered how it had felt when she would hug him. How warm she was against his body.

The years passed, and his love for her faded, as love will. She lived across the country now, and he would never see her again. She probably had herself a boyfriend now, and they were probably very close. he himself was single, and would stay single for another two years before meeting Jessica Claris.

Micah went to college, and flew through it, but had no idea what to do with his life. He eventually joined up with a computer parts store, doing minor repair work on computers, and Tech Support questions.

He eventually did change his shoes, halfway through his Freshman year at college, but he always did hold onto that old pair, seeing as how long they lasted him, and what he had been through with them. It was like that ticket stub to your first date that you can never manage to throw out.

Jessica was with him most of the time, and they spent any spare time they had together. They talked alot about life, and living, and loving, but he never told her about Shawna, or what had happened during high school, and she never asked after the first time.

"I... I don't think I want to talk about it. I just want to forget what happened," he told her when she did, and she dropped it. He loved her for that.

They stayed together for four years; and then they were engaged.

When she said yes, it was the happiest moment of Micah's life.

Then, two months after they got engaged, They broke it off, when two things happened simultaneously.

The first was the revelation of a secret that Jessica had been harboring.

The second, was the reappearance of Shawna in Micah's life.
