The Bone Collector

The Bone Collector is a suspenseful thriller about a Forensics cop who was paralyzed four years back while crawling through a sewer to get to a cop who had been shot.

When a series of murders crops up, he becomes interested, and a bunch of his old cop buddies bring information to him. The officer who discovered the first body (buried in gravel, just a hand sticking up) is played by Angelina Jolie, who becomes the unwilling apprentice of the paralyzed cop. Under his guidance, she examines each murder site, finding clues to the Killer's next move, and where he will strike next.

They never manage to figure it out, though, until it is just barely too late. By then, the killer has left the scene of the crime, and is already planning his next move.

Then, the killer decides to go after Denzel Washington.

This was a movie that was good, but there were some scenes that just didn't seem real. For instance, the scene when Denzel igures out the killer has his next murder planned for the stockyards. The scene there reminded me of the scene in Batman Forever when Val Kilmer works out one of the Riddler's Puzzles. It was all just too quick. Too Easy, for my tastes.

Other then scenes like that though, the movie was alright, and I give it Four out of Five Field Mice.

As always, Ebert can have the Balcony, The Sneak Previews guys can have the Aisle seats, i want the EXACT MIDDLE!
