James R Trotter - Enlisted 6/11/1861 as 3rd Sgt, Age 25, Captured 7/3/1863 at Gettysburg, Sent to Chester, Pa hospital until exchanged 8/17/1863, Roll dated 10/5/1864 shows him "home on wounded furlough", Casualty list in 7/2/1864 Ricmond Enquirer covering period from 5/6/1864 through 5/16/1864 list him severely wounded as Sgt J R Foster, "Present" on January 1865 roll, Detailed for light duty 2/20/1865, Surrendered 4/9/1865 at Appomattox, Filed for a pension in Alabama stating that he was wounded at the Wilderness (explaining why he was on wounded furlough in 1864), Son of Nathaniel & Nancy West Trotters, Brother of Benjamin, Elias & William Trotters, Died in Alabama 5/23/1906

William M Trotter - Enlisted 6/11/1861, Age 26, WIA (left arm and right hand amputated) 5/6/1864 at Wilderness, Roll dated 10/5/1864 shows him "absent wounded at hospital", Retired 1/17/1865, Discharge shows him to be 5'10" with Dark hair and eyes, Born in Nacoochee Valley Ga 3/28/1835 to Nathaniel & Nancy West Trotters, Brother of Benjamin, Elias & James Trotters, Filed for pension in Alabama in 1907 stating age as 73

William Jasper Underwood - Enlisted 3/1/1862, Died 5/19/1862 at Camp Elzey SC from disease, Death claim filed by widow Minerva A Underwood, Age 28 in 1850 Habersham County census

Hunter VanDiver - Enlisted 7/19/1861, Age 19, KIA 9/14/1862 at Fox's Gap, Md., Death claim filed by father Adam P VanDiver

George W Vaughn - Enlisted 3/1/1862, Died 5/1/1862 at Camp Elzey SC of disease, Age 22

M R Vaughn - Enlisted 2/1/1864, "Present" on January 1865 roll, No further record

William W Ward - Enlisted 6/25/1861, Age 23, "Present" on all rolls through war until roll dated January 1865 where he is listed as "home on furlough", No further military record but postwar pension application states that he was furloughed home on January 25th 1865 and could not return because the US Army had destroyed the railroads so he surrendered at Kingston Ga in May 1865, Application also states that he was wounded in the back of the head 9/14/1862 at Boonsboro (Fox's Gap, Md) and this is confirmed by witnesses and a doctor's statement, Born 12/10/1837 in Union County Ga. to Jerimiah & Moriah Ward, Married Mary Ann Wright 12/30/1871 in Mitchell County Ga., Moved to Jacksonville Fl in 1909, Died there 6/2/1923

Robert Douglas Watson - Enlisted 3/1/1862, Age 20 in 1860 Cobb County census, Last shown on roll dated 1/14/1864 as "present", Casualty list in 7/2/1864 Richmond Enquirer for period between 5/6/1864 and 5/16/1864 shows R D Walker of Co C as KIA, Since there was no R D Walker in the Legion it is highly probable that R D Watson died at Wilderness or Spotsylvania, Son of Paris C & Nancy Boon Watson

William H Whitehead - Enlisted 5/1/1862, WIA (face) 7/2/1863 at Gettysburg, Roll dated 1/19/1864 shows him "home on wounded furlough", Retired to Invalid Corps 4/13/1864 and detailed to Richmond as a shoemaker, Retirement document shows him to be 49, 5'6" with dark hair and grey eyes, Documents in his record show that he obtained an appointment as a 4th Lt in the Georgia State Militia in April 1864 but it is obvious that Confederate authorities retained him in Richmond since he was still there in December 1864, No further military record but a postwar pension application filed in Alabama indicates he survived the war

Camillus P Wyly(Wyley) - Enlisted 6/25/1861, Age 17, KIA 12/13/1862 at Fredericksburg, Death claim filed by father John H Wyly, Born February 19 1845 to John H & Mary Parks Wyly, Brother of Levi Wiley, Buried at Old Clarkesville Cemetery, His monument reads "The grave of the gallant youthful soldier C P Wyley who fell upon the ramparts at Fredericksburg Va Dec 13 1862. A soldier to the cause of constitutional liberty and equality"

Levi W Wyly(Wyley) - Enlisted 6/11/1861 as 4th Sgt, Age 18, Roll dated 7/1/1862 lists him as an Ordinance Sgt, Promoted to 2nd Lt 7/27/1863, Roll dated 1/19/1864 shows him "sick at hospital" and later rolls show him "home on sick furlough", Officer roster dated 12/3/1864 states "sick one year", Inspection report dated 2/27/1865 states "absent sick medical examining board approved", Son of John H & Mary Parks Wiley, Brother of Camillus Wyly

John C Young - Enlisted 6/11/1861 as 4th Cpl, Age 27, Died 6/1/1862 at Camp Elzey SC of disease, Death claim filed by father Levi F Young

William D Zachary - Enlisted 6/11/1861, Age 18, KIA 9/17/1862 at Sharpsburg, Md., Death claim filed by father James Zachary, Son of James & Eliza Russell Zachary, Buried at Townville Baptist Church Cemetery in Townville, SC
