Trouble in Shangri-La Concert

On August 11th I saw Stevie Nicks Live in Portland, Oregon. It was the best!

I went the concert with my cousin, Jill, Aunt Alyece, Cousin Susie, and her friend Sara. *Sara took this picture so she's not in it. That's me on the far left holding up the program, Jill, Elyse and Susie on the right*

Jill and I arrived about two hours before the concert. We were supposed to meet the others and go to dinner, but they didn't show up until 15 minutes before the doors opened, so she and I sat there for a really, really, long time.

Once we got in, it took us forever to find our seats, and the 4 inch, knee high, black velvet platform boots I was wearing were really killing my feet!

We finally found our seats and waited, very excited. I bought two stevie buttons that you can see me wearing in this picture. It was really wierd, though, that they were selling cotton candy! You can see the guy in the pic. It was like a baseball game or a circus! Crazy!

The opening guy was kinda boring. He mumbled a lot and you could only make ou the last two or three words of each sentence. It sounded like: Mmmmmuuuuhhmm Muhkdsddkdd Under the Moon! So that got really old really fast!

Finally, we heard 'Trouble In Shangri~La' start to play and she stepped out, and the croud went wild!

Several songs into the concert, some old guys behind us started to make bad comments. I think they were expecting Fleetwood Mac and not Stevie. Half way through they left, so we all stood up and danced because we wouldn't be blocking their views anymore!

One of my favorite parts of the concert was durring Edge of Seventeen where she touched everyone's hands. Of couse we were in the stands and not on the floor, so we couldn't go up, but it was just as fun watching from afar. We were making fun of the security guard who kept very close to her, with both his arms wrapped tightly around her waist. We decided, for a guy, he had the best job in the world!!

The concert was amazing. Far beyond words to describe. I highly suggest to anyone to go to a Stevie concert. She has an air around her that made the whole night magic. It was like a dream. I can't wait until she tours with Fleetwood Mac, and next time, I'm definatly getting tickets for the floor!
