SHE WAS MY FIRST REAL LOVE

Cupid did his job on me. When first I saw her on TV. Singing a song on American Bandstand, I knew at that moment, I'd be a loyal fan. There was no one better under the sun, I bought all her records one by one. She sang her songs and captured my heart, I knew from her I would never depart.

YESTERDAY.....

I kept a scrapbook of her career, I followed my star year after year. Number one on all the charts, Number one within my heart. I finally met her face to face, This beautiful lady of style and grace. We talked as though we were lifelong friends, Too soon our visit had to end.

TODAY.....

I guess you might say, I love her still, My heart she holds and always will. So, I'll be faithful and take my chances, With my first real love, Connie Francis.

TOMORROW

This poem was written for Connie, on the occasion of our second meeting, March 18,1996. I presented Connie with a framed copy of this poem, With love, for Yesterday,Today and Tomorrow.
