New Version (v.6)
The latest version of MSN Messenger allows you to change the look of the program from within the program itself.

Take a look at the following image to see how to do it:

This will then open up the following window where you select your image:

If the image is not already installed, you will need to click browse to locate the file on your computer. Click OK, and in theory, the image should be changed. However, like I said before, I have yet to get this to work like they say. If anyone has had success, please let me know and I'll post it here. Thanks!

1. Go to the "\Program Files\Messenger" folder, or for version 5.0, C:\Program Files\MSN Messenger.
2. Make a copy of the old theme image and give it a different name.
3. Save the new background file with the name "lvback.gif" (or "lvback" if your computer is set not to show file extensions).

(I recommend copying the original lvback.gif as default.gif.) As you can see, it takes a bit of work, but for now, it is the only option until MSN desides to add a method to change themes inside the program.

1. Regarder sous "C:\Program Fichiers\le Messager" et pour la version de MSN 5.0 sous "C:\Program Fichiers\le Messager de MSN"
2. Faire une copie de la vieille image de thème et lui donne un nom différent.
3. Effacer le fichier actuel de lvback gif.
4. Epargner le nouveau fichier d'arrière-plan avec le "lvback gif" de nom (ou "lvback" si votre ordinateur est réglé pour ne pas montrer les extensions de fichier).

(Je recommande copier le lvback gif original comme l'implicite gif.) Comme vous pouvez voir, il prend un morceau de travail, mais pour le moment, c'est la seule option jusqu'à ce que MSN desides pour ajouter une méthode pour changer des thèmes dans le programme.
