Seminars and Classes

College Program participants are taught the 7 Guest Service Guidelines:
  1. Make Eye Contact and Smile
  2. Greet and Welcome Each and Every Guest
  3. Seek Out Guest Contact
  4. Provide Immediate Service Recovery
  5. Display Appropriate Body Language at All Times
  6. Preserve the "Magical" Guest Experience
  7. Thank Each and Every Guest

    • Traditions
    • Intro"DUCK"tion Curriculum Seminar
      We explored the difference between an academic learning environment and a business seminar environment. We were taught to better understand the curriculum selection process and degree certification requirements. We were shown how to build a foundation for success by clarifying the Expectations for our learning experience. We explored available resources to enhance our learning experience.
    • Managing Cultural Adjustment
      We explored to better understand the scopes of diversity and cultures. We identifed current cultural experiences. We were taught to better understand the Cultural Adjustment Cycle and how to use it as a coping mechanism when experiencing change.
    • Communicating With Style
      We gained a better understanding of our work behavioral tendencies and developed a beginning understanding of how these styles may affect others. We were taught to understand, respect, appreciate and value individual differences. We developed an understanding of how to recognize behavioral styles different from our own and interact more effectively with these individuals. We enhanced our effectiveness in accomplishing tasks and creating harmony by improving our relationships with others.
    • The Art of Leadership
      We explored leadership and management skills. We learned the basic concepts of Situational Leadership and how they can increase work and relationship effectiveness. We explored the 12 leadership behaviors under Performance Excellence.
    • The World of Corporate Change
      We explored business issues the corporate work environment is facing today. We explored the concept of paradigms and how they influence our ability to embrace change. We explored the Disney approach to meeting today's challenges.
    • Feedback/Portfolio Seminar
      We continued to build upon our leadership skills. We showcased the portfolio Participants and their efforts. We got direction for the future through effective feedback. We celebrated the successful completion of the learning experience.

      CP's also attended classes such as Merchantainment, Jiminy's Search for Knowledge, and Enhancing the Magic.

      In these classes we were taught disability awarness; the Disney Quality Standards: SAFETY, COURTESY, SHOW, and EFFICIENCY; Disney Values: HONESTY, INTEGRITY, RESPECT, COURAGE, OPENNESS, DIVERSITY, and BALANCE; loss prevention; security awareness; and cultural differences.
