The History of Scott Anderson
Scott Anderson was born in Ontario, Canada on March 27, 1975. He has grown up to become one of the best lyricists and vocalists of the 20th century.
Scott attended school in Burlington, Ontario, which is located about 45 minutes west of the Toronto metropolis.
The first album he bought growing up was a Rush album. His favourite Canadian bands, other than Rush and his own band, are Our Lady Peace and the Tea Party.
He first started working with the members of finger eleven when he and guitarist James Black formed Stone Soul Picnic. However, he did not start out as the band's singer. Scott's first role in the band was as their drummer. He continued to play drums until they discovered Rob Gommerman. When he joined they quickly pushed Scott to move to the front as lead vocalist. Then other members joined, including Scott's brother Sean Anderson and guitarist Rick Jackett.
The band then changed their name to the Rainbow Butt Monkeys and started to write original material. After winning a radio contest, they entered the studio to record what would become letters from Chutney, a funky rock album released on Mercury Records Canada.
The band, as any band would, grew into itself and evolved. The Rainbow Butt Monkeys were a thing of the past. From the closing of that chapter they opened the next, finger eleven. After releasing their debut album under the new name, they were dropped by the label. Following that another loss occurred as Rob Gommerman left the band to persue his academics.
The band did not give up altogether. They hired a new drummer, Rich Beddoe, and began selling their ideas to different labels in hopes of a deal. Then, in a stroke of luck, the independent label Wind-Up Redords signed the band onto it's roster. They re-released the finger eleven album tip in both the US and Canada.
Throughout their journey through the music world, Scott has proven himself over and over again to be one of the most genious lyricists. He also has a presence that can carry you away when you listen to his singing. He is truly incredible.
