ESCAPE FROM WITHIN
A Poem by Pamela Wilson

The soul was so knowing and the mind could not see,
That the love I had needed was standing with me.
The mind was so focused at the sadness at hand,
That the heart would not open for the soul to expand.
So smothered inside the soul could not breath,
Screaming and yearning was all it could be.

The soul was slowly, dying in pain.

The mind asked itself one simple thing,
Would I forever be alone?
Searching the corners that were hidden to all,
The mind found the place only known to the soul.
Inside the heart the mind could see,
That time had separated the three.

The sadness had caused the mind to be blind,
And when it saw what it had done,
The mind opened the heart for it to feel.
And with that in sight,
The soul was revealed.

Happiness comes when the three can unite,
To handle what the other cannot.
The blindness is gone,
And the love that I see,
Is the love that was always within me.
