The 3 months notice having been published to the Defendants who are absent from the State, It is ordered and decreed that the Lands described in the applicants petition in this case be sold by the Sheriff of Pickens District on the First Monday in May next or on such other sale day as will be more advantageous for the parties in interest. 8th Apr 1850. W. D. Steele, O.P.D.

The undersigned humbly showeth that Saml Edens late of Pickens District deceas'd died intestate leaving a tract of land lying on waters of Oolenoy Creek adjoining lands belonging to Jacob Chastain, James Keith & Others containing some 200 acres be the same more or less, Your Petitioner being an heir at law petitions your Court for an order to divide or sell the same so as to do justice to all the parties interested Wm Edens, Alexander Edens, Pascal Southerland & Wife Esther, Jesse Adams & Wife Polly & myself and wife Melinda are the heirs of the said Samuel Edens Dec'd all live in this District except Jesse Adams & wife Polly who are absent from the state, the said land is not worth $1000…

To Wm Edens, Alexander Edens, Pascal Southerland & wife Esther Southerland & Jesse Adams & Wife Polly Adams, legal heirs and representatives of Saml Edens who died intestate… you are hereby required to appear at the Court of Ordinary to be holden at Pickens CH for Pickens District on the ____ day of ___ AD 1850 to show cause if any you can why the Real Estate of Samuel Edens deceased situated in said District on the waters of Woolenoy bounding on lands belonging to Ab Chastain, Cornelius Keith & other containing 200 acres should not be divided or sold.
