Know all men by these presents that we Thomas M. Johnson as Principal and Robert B. McCutchen, Joseph A. McCutchen, Stephen C. Tate & Cicero H. Taylor as sureties are held and firmly bound unto W. H. Simmons Ordinary of said County for the time being and his successors in office in the sum of Four Thousand Dollars to the payment of which well and truly to be made we bind ourselves our heirs executors and administrators jointly and severally firmly by these presents sealed with our seals and dated this the Twelfth day of February Eighteen Hundred and seventy seven

The conditions of the above obligation is such that whereas the above bound Thomas M. Johnson was on the Third day of January 1877 duly elected County Treasurer of said county. Now if the said Thomas M. Johnson shall faithfully discharge all the duties of such office of County Treasurer of said county during the time he continues therein or discharges any of the duties thereof then the above obligation to be void otherwise to remain in full force.
