He died 17 Jan 1871, W. D. Edens, Saml S. Edens made suit for letter of Admr. left the widow and 10 chn. Owned others, #2 tract known as the Chastain tract of 75 acres adj land of Tyre L. Roper. Also one half interest in tract #3 known as the jet survey of 200 acres adj. land of Ambrose Reid. All lying on waters of Oolenoy River. Heirs: Widow Mary Edens, chn. John M. C. Edens of Texas, Alexr. Edens, Sarah A. Edens, Warren D. Edens, Samuel S. Edens, Rebecca Lynch wife of Nathaniel Lynch, Adaline wife of Vanb. Jones, Eveline B. wife of barring (one place spelled Gassaway). Also the heirs of wife of Wilson Jones viz. Mary J. and Jas. P. Jones heirs of Wm. J. Edens names unknown. The Judge called the wife of Wilson Jones, Lydia A. Jones, but A. Blythe in his recollection remembered it as Deniza. 30 Mar 1872 John M. C. Edens husband of S. B. Edens decd. of Collins County, Texas appointed V. S. Jones of Pickens Co., SC their attorney to receive money due them from the estate of Wm. Edens decd. of Pickens, SC.
