Modelle Catherine Bradley Scott died Sunday, Aug. 27, 2006, at Parkview Convalescent Center where she had lived for the past 13 years.
She was born in Graves County to Harvey Garfield Bradley and Lillian Harper Bradley on Feb. 12, 1911. She graduated from Lowes High School with honors and was on the women's basketball team.
Mrs. Scott was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Maurice S. Scott; one sister, Marguaritte Moore; and one brother, Charles W. Bradley.
Mrs. Scott retired from the Paducah Shoe Factory where she was employed for many years. She and Mr. Scott, who served as a rural mail carrier in McCracken County for 45 years, reared their family in West Paducah, where she was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church and the McCracken County Homemakers.
Mrs. Scott is survived by her children, Robert Lynn and Maurine Scott of Sweetwater, Texas; Philip Morris Scott of The Woodlands, Texas; Kenneth Charles and Paula Scott of Danville, Ky.; Danny Richard and Vicki Scott of Louisville, Ky.; Janie Marie and Gene Peas of Vienna, Ill.; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 1, 2006, at Roth Funeral Chapel downtown. The Rev. Larry Davidson will officiate. Burial will be at Mount Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, U.S. 62 west.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 31, 2006, at the funeral home.
The family wishes to offer its sincere appreciation for the loving care given by her healthcare providers throughout the past 13 years.
