When Mobile fell to Union forces, the Huntsville and the Tuscaloosa were ordered up the Tombigbee River where they were scuttled on April 12, 1864.

When the Union fleet pushed past her to New Orleans, the Louisiana was set on fire by her commander and left to explode down river.

She was captured by a Union gunboat and sold to a Bostonian company and renamed the General Meade.

She was initially intended to operate against Union whalers in the Pacific, but ended up sailing right around the globe, making her the only Confederate vessel to carry the Southern flag this far. She survived the war and was sold and later sank during a storm in the Indian Ocean.

She captured 18 Union vessels before being forced into Cadiz for repairs in early 1863. She then became the blockade runner Gibraltar.

Armed with: two 7 inch and six 6 inch guns
She captured a total of over 4 million dollars worth of ships and cargoes. Finally she was siezed in a Brazillian port, taken to the USA and "accidentally" sank by a Union transport in November of 1864.

Size: 209 feet long and weighing 1,273 tons

Launched: February of 1863
Armed with: two 7.1 inch and four 6 inch
Armor: 15.6 inches on sides and 2 inches on deck
She was the largest ironclad built in the Confederacy. She was captured by Union forces on August 5, 1864 after a three hour battle.

Size: 21 feet long
Engine: horizontal direct- acting engines

Launched: January of 1865
Armed with: six 6.4 inches
Armor: 4 inches on battery
The last major warship launched by the Confederacy. When Richmond fell to Union forces on April 3, 1865, the Confederates failed to blow up the Texas and she was siezed by the Union and moved to Norfolk Navy Yard.
