The History of More Than Novellas
Okay, so this is not the most attractive page known to man. It's not, because I'm surprised if anyone ventured way down to the pits below the counter to have a look (or maybe you came in through the Submissions Room).
This is where I get brilliant and I tell you all the fascinating stuff. I'm a history major after all, but you wouldn't know about that.
This is my testimony and ministry specifically for this site.
In March of 2000 I was at a very discouraging point. I was low on spirituality--as in, I was thirsting to give, but I didn't know how. At the same time I was also discouraged about how to serve and give my time to God and with how Satan uses the Internet for his gain. Why are so many Christian sites about money? How come the devil does his stuff for free?
How come I can find so much bad to read but so little Godly stuff?
God convicted me--telling me to do something (and I recognize that this is my calling, not necessarily anyone else's). I've been writing since the sixth grade when a teacher told me I should keep writing my plots down. I also know quite bit about graphics--as in putting together graphics and layout and that sort of thing. Computer layout is much different then I'm used to.
So, I bought a book on HTML, put some of my stuff up to read and kicked off this site by March of 2000.
If anyone stopped by in the first two months, the site you see now is recognizably different. I started off with a main motif of butterflies, which are still visible. I started off without frames or tables, or little color. Now it's different. I also started off naming my site after my pseudonymn, Elizabeth Delayne, now it's FREE Christian Fiction. No one but God is to get the glory. It's why you don't really know who I am.
Along the way, we've added an message board, first for discussion this site's flagship book--Lady in Waiting then as an Interactive Fiction board. The colors, the design has somewhat changed, but the purpose has always remained the steadfast.
In September of 2004 we took an even bigger step, moving away from the edelayne website to More Than Novellas. We haven't had a name of our own for sometime--it has just been a site for reading. Now maybe it will be easier for people to return and more friendly for people to share their writing.
All of this stuff is free. No one makes any money. Tell your friends about it. Donate some of your own writing. Love God first and always!
