Tundara is a huge world. The total landmass of Tundara measures aproximately 1,110,880 square miles of lucious, dangerous terrain.
Tundara is a relatively young world, and humans are the newest race to grace its surface. Only a few small human civilizations exist and human territories are scattered around the globe. Elves, dwarves, orcs, gnomes, and halflings dominate the rest of the world with plenty of room for vast amounts of unexplored areas.
Many myths and legends revolve around the "barren" regions. These range from the crumbling of ancient civilizations to great battles between gods which drained these areas of all life.
The climate on Tundara is the most distinguishing feature of this realm. The atmosphere around Tundara puts it in a constant state of evening. The sunlight never touches the surface of the world unmolested by the damp clouds that loom overhead.
Also, due to the atmospheric conditions, the climate never rises above about eighty degrees farenheit, and even then only at the equator where the planet is warmest. The planet is predominantly ice and snow. However, it is said, this was not always the case.
An ancient tale only spoken of by the elves in their highest counsels, tells of an ancient race of man-like creatures that possesed great powers of magic. They caused the sky to freeze to prevent the world from total destruction.
This tale is unfounded and even the elves who know the tale and tell it to their kindred don't whole-heartedly believe it.
