A day hundreds of EB Gang members have waited years for. I, OnettNess am doing a lot of work on this, along with your president, EBG Ness, who worked his ass of making this.

Before we get to the newsletter, I, your former leader, OnettNess, would like to say just a couple things. SO JUST READ IT, DAMMIT!

In this newsletter, you'll read about the history of the club, the old stuff, the new stuff, and the very old stuff, from when the club first started, on Friday, July 18th, 1997.

This newsletter took literally days to write. It's 10 parts, and you're probably ready to delete a lot of it, now, maybe all of it, but I strongly urge you to take 45 minutes and to read this newsletter. We're trying to make it enjoyable to read, afterall it's our 100th issue!

There are many things in this newsletter, history, games, information, ways to win things, information on other clubs and the impact they have on the AOL community of EarthBound and RPG clubs. There are interviews with all the members of the Apple of Enlightenment, the prestigious members of the EarthBound Gang.

The purple background is to celebrate the 100th issue, because when the club first started, I OnettNess used all purple(and no I'm not gay, and there is nothing wrong with being gay) backgrounds. The rest of the parts of light yellow.

~~Special News of the EarthBound Gang~~
Official Saturday Meetings Have Moved to Sunday
Official EarthBound Gangs that have originally been on Saturday have moved to Sunday. This is because of 2 reasons. The first reason is because a lot of people, including me are busy on Saturday Night! The second reason is because the Sharks gave us the Wednesday timeslot, so we will give them our Saturday. Come to the meetings and have fun!


There Will be no Newsletter Next Week
Because of the size, magnitude, and time consumption of this newsletter, we will be taking a break from the newsletter buisness and there will be no newsletter next week. We will have a mini-newsletter though, to update you all in the ranks, tokens, news and other information that you may need. So I repeat, No newsletter next week, only a small mini-newsletter. KEEP IN MIND THAT ALL THE MEETINGS AND OTHER PLANNED EVENTS WILL REMAIN THE SAME!

Only go to Location 2 if Location 1 is full. We will have a meeting host in there on Wednesdays. Remember that meetings are a good way to get tokens and promotions as I give out as many as 40 of each a meeting! We have a lot of fun, and you get to see what is up with the club that isn't mentioned in the Newsletter and so forth.

Release Time: Late Monday Night.
The newsletters usually come out late Monday night. To get an article in, I need it by Saturday night sometime. Interviews are done Monday Morning. The newsletter is usually 5 parts, and goes out around 11:00 PM eastern.

I don't have to sit here and name a bunch of things that he did.. but I will. OnettNess created the entire part 2 of the newsletter. He also redid the token list. Moreover, he was on a lot to help give me history information on the EarthBound Gang as well as advice and tips of this 100th newsletter. He even editted, spellchecked and decorated every part of this issue! By the way: Did you know that he was the former leader of the EarthBound Gang up to issue 79? Oh.. well.. he was.

The history of the EBG from the Creator of the EBG

Hello EB Gang members.. to those of you who remember me, I decided to write some stuff for the 100th issue, since I wrote Issues 1-79. It was very sad the day that I sent out my retirement letter, but I had to do it.. I know I let down a lot of people that day, and for that, I apologize. But I retired because I couldn't do it anymore, without exaggeration, when I got home from school Monday, I wrote the newsletter.. even though it took me until dinner to finish about half, then around 7 or 8 at night I'd send it. What I used to do was write the newsletter immediately after I send it, except for parts like the vote results and trivia winners. I forgot to do it one Monday and waited until Monday to write it, this is what made every Monday 6 hours of grueling work, and I also had the meetings, which started sucking by the end because I was so frustrated.. and the thing I worked on over an hour every day was the web-page, which was one my very best achievements.. ever in life, and it hurts me every day knowing I deleted that, our logo and other EB Gang stuff. What's sad is that every week somebody still finds the EB Gang's old Join Page where it submits a form to me so they could join. The form doesn't work over 90% of the time, it only sends me one part of it, but not their E-mail or anything, and I never did fix it. That deprived the club of over 100 members, without exaggeration. I know EBG Ness leads it now, when I first retired I didn't plan on letting it be led by anyone, because I was afraid the EB Gang would just keep going until it left being hated, I wanted it to leave when people remember it for good reasons. I didn't think EBG Ness could lead the club better than my cat, but he showed me.. that's right, that damn cat got on the computer everyday and showed EBG Ness he was better than him! Just kidding, EBG Ness showed he could he an excellent and responsive leader, and I think he surprised us all. I'd say EBG Ness holds the best EB Club Meetings ever, although some of the first Shark meetings were very cool, and most of you remember SeCtoR X19.. unfortunately, there was more about him.. like secret plans to hack me. There was a good side to SeC though, although he was conceited, he was a very good and dedicated leader.
Many of you want to know how the club started, here's the long story, with lots of irrelevance...
T'was 1994.. or 95.. can't remember.. I was at an ice cream social in 3rd or 4th grade when I saw this kid talking about Mortal Kombat, and a secret character, Noob Saibot. I think why I started to talk to him is because I was a Mortal Kombat fanatic and he was pronouncing something wrong. We got into a mini arguement, but ended up sitting next to each other, talking about Mortal Kombat. I had never met anyone who liked Mortal Kombat(actually Mortal Kombat 3) so much and so he gave me his phone number. Anyway, we became friends, and anytime I was at his house, he would go on AOL, to keyword GamePro and to the file vault. (A place with stupid fake codes and video game sounds and tip books.) Well, I thought AOL was cool and after begging my parents to get it, we did. We lived in Chicago Ridge, Illinois(a suburb of Chicago) then. I became very obsessed with AOL, all I did was go to GamePro's file vault and use yahoo.com to search for Mortal Kombat web-pages. Well, then we moved to Orland Park, Illinois, where I live now. Now here's how I got intoruded into EarthBound: In 5th grade, we carpooled with people that lived behind us and some other people. When we carpooled with the people that lived behind us, I would just walk over there. Well, I noticed them playing an interesting video game. It was called EarthBound. I really liked the little backgrounds and music and enemies and items and they let me play it. I thought the game was awesome, and that Easter my parents bought me it. I loved the game, I beat it tons of times, and then on my Ermac606 screen name, and the only one on our AOL account at the time(I still have it too, I can't delete it, it's the master SN!) I put EarthBound in my hobbies in my profile. The next day on AOL, I got the message "You've Got Mail!" I figured it was from Stauterj or GameGod64, my only two online friends. Stauterj left AOL with an E-mail that almost made me cry, and then shortly after I met GameGod64 in private room n64. (Now Itz PiP, who made progs for the club.. now he sells porn) Well I opened up my mailbox to see three E-mails, one from SeCtoR X19, one from TheKid001, and one from soembody I can't remember. Well SeC's and The Kid's were advertisements for EarthBound clubs. I was thrilled and joined SeC's "The Sharks" and TheKid's "Giygas's Followers." Then the next day I got a hyperlink from SeC telling me to come to the meeting. I had NEVER seen anything so amazing.. 20 kids.. all talking about EarthBound. They were playing Scrambler, a game I had seen in Private Room n64 a few times, that I sucked at. Well I did very good at Scrambler and was so amazed I was telling my parents all about this meeting I was at. That night a kid named Buddyboy36 put on the chat room "I'M STARTING A NEW EB CLUB IM ME TO HELP!!!" I IMed him, and he was making ranks. He wanted Sergeant, Lieutenant and police related ranks, and I thought the ranks should be, Ness, Paula, Jeff, Poo etc. Well I told him he should use these, and he said he wouldn't, so I thought about starting my own EarthBound club.. never did I think it would become the best EB club in the world, but it most certainly did. I talked to a couple of my friends like GameGod64 and PoeticLife(who hates me now) and in the chat room PoeticLife made a comment that if he had not made, there would be no EB Gang today. I told him I didn't have the programs and the time for the club, and I don't think I'm gonna do it. And he told me, No, do it. And I listened to him, I found 7 people. Blitz98765 is the only original member I can remember. Well I sent out my first newsletter, with big yellow words, with purple backround.

Kind of corny, huh? Well, it took us a while to change it. Well, I needed more members, so I did something called "The Quest for 30." Whoever got 30 new members first would become VP. That's how I got about 100 new members who loved EarthBound, who recruited more members. God this is taking long, if you copy and paste this sentence in an E-mail and send it to EBG Ness, he'll promote you! (That's a reward for reading!) We then had meetings, and when we first filled the room I almost pissed my pants from excitement. We got a web-site, a message board, a web chat room, a meeting place, a guest book, and the Sharks and my club were fiercly competing. Then, after issue 79.. I just told myself that I'm going insane, sitting inside all day, doing this, and sent out a retirement notice. It didn't feel as weird as I thought it would not writing the newsletters every Monday.
Well, the only thing left to tell you about is how we got the name. The original name was OnettNess's EB Club. (oh yeah I made the screen name OnettNess right before starting the club.) We needed a name, so me and about 10 members were in private room EB Gang thinking of a name. Somebody then said the Octobots, which I was planning on using, until AwEsOmE 02, a 12 year old girl suggested EB Gang, which is how we got named The EarthBound Gang. Well, to those of you who wondered what I did since I retired, I bought some video games, like Super Smash Bros., Pokémon Snap and I guess that's it. With Super Smash Bros. I have every code and I'm always Ness! I could whoop ya' all! Pokémon Snap sucks! I beat it within one hour, seriously. My main hobby is playing Pokemon cards, I have every single American Pokemon card, my whole Jungle set is 1st edition and so is over half of my base set. I have two undefeated decks, one is Electric and Fighting, it has 4 Hitmonchan, 4 Electabuzz, 3 Kangaskhan, 1 Scyther(I don't need to use Swords Dance). It has 4 Energy Removals, 4 PlusPowers, 4 Bills, 3 Super Energy Removals, 3 Scoop Ups, 2 Professor Oaks, 2 Gust of Wind, 1 Item Finder, 1 Computer Search, 13 Fighting Energy, 9 Lightning Energy and 2 Double Colorless Energy. The point of the deck is to do damage quickly. I don't want to say I'm better than anyone because then you'll all start argueing with me. My 2nd deck that's undefeated I can't list, because I know this nosey bitch is reading it and I don't want him to know what's in it. :) Hiya Trick. I also have a fighting and psychic deck, it's the same as Electric and Fighting but without The Electric Energy is psychic, and Electabuzzes are replaced with 3 Mewtwos and 2 Mr. Mimes. Now, my absolute FAVORITE Pokémon card is definitely the rare Trainer card, Scoop Up. It's a highly underrated card. It's also a switch and Pokémon Center in one. You can use it on things that have lots of damage and not much energy, like a Chansey with 10 HP left, then send out a new Pokémon, and put a healthy Chansey on your bench. Also, Hitmonchan is a very good card, 70 HP, and quick, effective attacks. Electabuzz is also good, attacks quickly. PlusPower's okay, so is Bill, but I must know everybody's favorite Pokémon card, so I am holding a vote to see what everybody's favorite Pokémon cards are.
