ANOTHER STALE CARTOON

Myself in relation to the whole EB Club Scene

Well I led 3 different clubs in my time:

The Giygas Crew (February&March 1998) Had an innovative experience system for rankings. This club was started because I was in a Sharks chatroom with Ness 19 (CreamdCrn), Nikolai64, and Matingly22 and they all led clubs so I felt like I should start one. It bombed miserably.

The Rowdy Mice (April to September 1998)- This club was very erratic with sending newsletters, formats, ranks, and everything. It was good at times, but was always messy and a dissapointment. It proved to me that two people cannot lead a club unless they are both on the same page. The club was just finding a niche as being the 5th largest EarthBound club, getting a solid format, and getting members who cared about the club when it faded away before the 14th Newsletter was to be sent. I led this club with NATHENDO1 and we tried to revive it on 3 or 4 different occasions but it never worked out.

The Students of Snow Wood (November&December 1998)- Well I took this club over from TekKid5203 (now known as John McCEB). It was run extremely well by him and I picked up right where he left off until the ranks became too difficult to do so I quit on it. That was my last formal leadership of a club.

I was also co-leader of the Mr.Saturn Nation, AVP of Nikolai64's Flying Men, and a Legendary Shark in the Sharks awhile after they had been reduced to a weak club. I was in 2 Sharks elections and lost both placing in the middle of about 7 or 8 candidates.

The EB Scene

Well when I joined there were alot of members who controlled things, SeCtoR X19, PoSeR 0001(now DHG Down), Kit, MagusCrono, and others....there was a new breed of members emerging though, some might say the golden era, with people like myself, Nikolai64, Matingly22, Ness 19, OAFrankFly, TekKid5203, and others making their mark on everything, some of us are still around, others are doing their own thing. Now that there are some totally new guys that dominate the scene, IHI E A Ds Dead, Kid ofSeph, Jay3983, and yes even Tmgiygas who was around even in 97, but only became well known after the club scene died down. When 1999 hit the clubs really did fade away or burnout. Yet EBG Ness (Deafcon2) led the EarthBound Gang to great new heights in taking over for OnettNess. With his recent departure, and the making of EBForever I made this little webpage to sort of put some closure on the entire crazy EarthBound scene. Thanks for the memories, it was a great ride.
