'Til Death Do Us Part- Part 8 Kevin
For whatever reason, I turned Christina's seat around while I got dressed. Yeah, I was sure it wouldn't have too much impact on her now to watch her father get dressed, but I also didn't want her getting used to seeing her father naked. So she was turned around.
After I got dressed, I changed Christina, then made sure neither of us was gonna leave anything behind. Denise was taking Christina, Brian was taking Mary's dress and my tux, and we had our bags.
Mary came out of the bathroom, one towel around her, the other one she was using to dry her hair.
"You're killin' me, girl," I muttered, looking up at her. She grinned at me, picking up some clothes off the top of her bag.
"I love you, Kev," she said, walking back into the bathroom.
"I love you, too, Mary. You'd better keep your promise!"
"I don't make promises I can't keep," she called. I smiled, sitting back on the bed.
When Mary came back out, it was ten to ten. Denise and Brian dropped by at almost the same time.
Christina really seemed to like Denise, which was one of the reasons we were leaving Christina with her.
Brian came in a second after Denise, frowning.
"A day I can sleep in 'til noon or later, and I get up at 9:30."
"Brian, why are you complaining? You're not even dressed," Mary pointed out. He wasn't. He was still in his boxers and a white tank top. At least his hair was combed. He gave Mary a look and she grinned.
"I'm going back to bed," he grumbled as I handed him Mary's dress and my tux.
I laughed as he shuffled from the room, the two outfits slung over his shoulder.
Soon after, Denise left with Christina and Matt took Mary and me to the airport. We signed a minimal number of autographs and I noticed that people in Tally were more subdued than fans in other cities. I pointed this out to Mary on the plane. She smiled.
"That's just the airport, at 10:30 on a weekend. If you saw some of the people I grew up with, you'd change your mind."
I nodded. "I'll take your word for it."
"That's best." She rested her head on my shoulder and grabbed my hand. I smiled and rested my head on hers.

A number of hours later, we were on our little island, after changing to a little tiny plane that I piloted. I really didn't want anyone knowing where we were.
Mary hadn't seen the island except for a picture I'd shown her. She'd also never flown with me before.
Needless to say, she jumped from the plane as soon as I told her it was safe.
"God, Kev, this is prettier than the picture."
"I told you it was," I said, climbing out of the plane.
"Words don't do it justice."
I walked around the plane and out my arm around her waist.
"How did you find this place?"
"I gotta have some secrets," I said. She looked up at me, her eyebrow raised. I grinned and kissed her.
"Stay here. I'm gonna take our stuff up to where we're staying, then I'll come and get you."

Me
I smiled, wondering why Kevin had to make it all a big surprise. He kissed me again, then went to our bags.
I walked around the plane to the edge of the water and stared out over the ocean. Nothing bad was gonna this week. Not even rain. I loved the rain.
"Go ahead, God," I murmured. "Screw me over." Then I grinned and shook my head, stretching my arms up over my head. A light ocean breeze came by, chilling my stomach a little.
Kevin slipped his arms around my waist, warming my stomach. I smiled as he planted a few soft kisses on my neck.
"Do I get to see where we're staying now?"
"Yep. But you gotta close your eyes."
"Oh no, major trust issue now."
He laughed. "C'mon, baby, don't worry. I won't run you into a tree or anything."
"You sure?"
He laughed again. "Of course."
"Okay." I sighed and closed my eyes. "Do with me what you will."
I could tell he was smiling as he took my hands.
"Does that apply to tonight, too?"
I grinned. "Maybe."

Kevin
"Are there steps involved in this?" Mary asked as I led her to our little house. I laughed softly.
"Yes, but trust me. You won't fall." I glanced back at her and she nodded, her eyes still closed.
A little more than halfway there, she jumped suddenly and stopped walking, pulling her hand from mine. I looked back at her.
"Mary? Baby, you okay?"
Her eyes snapped open and she shook her head as if to clear it. For a minute I thought she was gonna fall, but then she regained her composure and looked at me.
"Are you okay?" I asked her again. She nodded.
"Yeah, I'm fine. It's just... a thing. I can't explain it. But I'm fine."
"You sure?"
She nodded again. "It's all good." She smiled at me and I returned it, thought I'm sure I looked worried.
"C'mon, Kev, I'm cool. Show me this place."
I smiled again and took her hand.
I hoped she wouldn't have any random panic attacks while we were here. They were rare, but she'd had 'em.
Those thoughts flew from my mind when we reached the place. It was small, but perfect for the two of us. There was just a kitchen, livingroom, one bedroom with a king size bed, one bathroom, and a screened in porch kinda thing. I knew just how Mary would describe it, too.
"Cute!" she exclaimed. I laughed.
"I thought you'd like it."
"It's got like, running water and stuff-"
I laughed again. "Of course, I wasn't planning on a primitive honeymoon. All the luxuries of home, just away from home. And this island is ours forever."
She turned and looked at me, her eyes narrowed slightly.
"You bought this island?"
I nodded. "Mary, don't even worry about it. We're not bankrupt, not in debt or anything. It's my wedding present to you."
She looked around, then back at me.
"A whole damn island... how much did this cost?"
"An amount that only I need to worry about," I murmured, putting my arms around her and pulling her towards me.
"What's the name?"
"Well," I said, "since it's so small, and in memory of TIffany, the name is Wee Island."
She laughed. "Are you serious?"
I nodded. "Dead serious."
"Thanks, Kevy."
I kissed her neck. "Anything for you."
We were silent a minute.
"Alright, enough looking at it, let's go inside."
She laughed and followed me in the house.
"This is great, Kev," Mary said as she looked around.
"You won't feel confined or anything, will you?"
She shook her head. "No. I mean, I've got the whole island."
"Okay, good." I grabbed her hand and pulled her to the back of the house. "Check this out."
"What am I checking out?"
"See that tree?"
She nodded.
"Look at it close."
"There's a little hammock or something between the branches," she finally said.
"Yeah, 'cept it doesn't move. You can write up there. There's little ledges and stuff on the tree where you can store your stuff."
She laughed. "That's great, Kev."
"So you like it?"
"I love it, it's great." She looked back at me. "Is there a phone?"
I nodded.
"Only one call to Denise a day!" she said, grinning at me. "I know you, you'll be calling her every hour on the hour, checkin' on her and Christina."
I laughed. "Damn, you figured out my plan."
"I'm serious though, Kev. You don't need to check up on her. She's an experienced mother. I mean, hell, she raised AJ."
I nodded, smiling slightly. "Okay."
"Where's the bedroom?"
I raised an eyebrow at her and she smacked my stomach.
"Not now."
I laughed. "Sorry."

Me
Kevin showed me the bedroom and I sat down on the bed. The mattress was soft and comfortable. I was sleepy.
"You're gonna go to sleep, aren't you?" Kevin said, grinning slightly. I laid down, closing my eyes, and nodded.
"I need energy, boy."
"Alright, girl, then sleep." I heard him leave and kicked my shoes off. Soon I was asleep.

When I woke up, it was dark outside and for once, I could actually see the stars in the sky. I sighed and stood up, walking over to my bag for my brush. As I brushed my hair, I wondered where Kevin was.
I pulled a sweater from my bag and left the room. I flipped the kitchen light on and stepped outside. The wind was picking up, and it was a bit chilly, so I pulled my sweater on and crossed my arms over my chest. The moon was full and bright and illuminated the beach.
I saw a small form -at least small from where I was- on the beach and decided to see what Kev was up to.
I went on down the steps slowly, looking up at the sky. Clouds were moving in; it was gonna storm tonight. But the moon hadn't been covered yet.
The wind was raising goosebumps on my arms, even with the sweater.
I walked up behind Kev and put my arms around his neck.
"Hey, baby," I murmured. He reached up and rubbed my arms lightly.
"Hey, sleep good?"
I nodded and sat down beside him.
"Whatcha doin' out here?"
He shrugged his shoulders. "Nothin' really. Just starin' at the water. Thinkin'."
"About what?" I asked softly, looking at him. His eyes were shining in the moonlight and looked really green.
"Not much. I want another baby."
"Whoa, Kev, sweetheart, unless you wanna carry it, my body needs a rest. I'm still trying to get back in shape."
He laughed slightly. "I didn't mean in the near future, baby."
"That's better." I leaned on him and he put his arm around me, stretching the blanket he had over the both of us.
After a minute, we were both lying down, staring up at the sky.
Eventually I got on top of him and looked at him, crossing my arms over his chest. He smiled at me and rubbed my back lightly.
"You know what you remind me of?" I murmured, kissing his chest lightly.
"What?"
"One of those big, soft body pillows."
He laughed. "I do."
I nodded. "Yeah. You're so cuddly."
He smiled again and kissed my hands. I grinned at him, raising an eyebrow.
"Smile if you wanna have sex with me," I said, remembering the thing from high school. Only thing was, he didn't smile (which musta took a lot of will power). In fact, he shook his head.
"I don't wanna have sex with you."
I stared at him. "What?" He'd been begging for two nights now?
"I don't wanna have sex with you," he said again, then smiled. "I wanna make love to you."
"You just gotta get all politically correct, don't you?"
"Words mean a lot; you gotta say what you wanna say when you need to say it."
"Shut up, Kev," I murmured, kissing him.

When I woke up the next day, the sunlight was pouring into the bedroom, I was in bed, and I could smell food. My stomach growled in response and I remembered I hadn't anything eaten anything since yesterday on the plane to Miami. And that hadn't been great. Whatever Kevin was cooking smelled good.
I rolled over onto my back and stared up at the ceiling. I felt dressed. I didn't know how dressed, but I was dressed.
I was really wondering what Kevin was cooking, so I got out of bed and grabbed my bathrobe, then went out to the kitchen.
Kevin was in front of the stove, paying close attention to whatever he was cooking. I smiled and wrapped my arms around his waist, kissing his bare back.
"Hey, baby," he murmured.
"So, are you satisfied now?"
"Almost." He turned and grinned at me.
"Almost?"
"After I eat, I'll be satisfied." He grinned again and pulled two plates from the cupboard.
"Why is it that after sec, all men think they are the world's best cooks?"
He laughed. "I thought I was already the best cook."
"You're a good cook, not the best."
He fake pouted and I grinned. "I love your cooking, sweetheart."
I looked up at the wall. "Why is there a liquor cabinet in here? I don't drink, and you hardly do."
Kevin laughed. "Courtesy of AJ."
"Why is there a liquor cabinet courtesy of AJ in here?"
"The guys all put something kinda reminiscent of themselves. AJ has the liquor cabinet-"
"I see a Playstation, courtesy of Nick. There's a basketball, courtesy of Brian... where's Howie's?"
Kevin snickered. "See the drapes?"
I looked up. "God... they're purple."
"There ya go."
I laughed. "How sweet." We sat down at the small breakfast bar and I looked at him.
"When did you find this place?"
"When we had to go off again after we came back from Europe. Brian and AJ helped me. The guys got all the stuff down here. They're the only ones who know where it is and the number for it, other than us."
"Did it rain last night?"
"You're so random," Kev said, laughing. Then he nodded. "Yeah. Right after we came up here, as luck would have it."
I laughed. "When did we come back up here?"
He shook his head, grinning. "I haven't the slightest."
"That's good," I said, laughing. The phone rang suddenly and I jumped slightly. Kevin stook up and walked over to answer it.
"Hello."
I turned my attention back to my food. If that phone was used more than four times -incoming or outgoing- I was gonna disconnect it.
"Mary."
I looked up at Kev and he held the phone out to me. I stood up and took it from him.
"Hello."
"Hey, brat."
I grinned. "Hey, Nicky."
"How ya doin'? Like the place?"
"Yep. It's great."
"Like the drapes? Howie wants to know."
I laughed. "They're... great."
"He'll be happy to know that." He laughed and I heard him tell Howie. Howie cheered.
"Alright, alright, here," I heard Nick say. Then another voice came on the line.
"Yo!" He laughed. "Hey, Mary."
I laughed again. "Hey, AJ."
"You guys gonna drink all that liquor? 'Cause, ya know, I was hopin' I could come down there, throw a little party..."
I giggled. "It's all yours."
"Thanks."
