The Difference Between Love and Hate- Part 10 Brian
A couple hours after we'd dropped Mary and Nick off, we stopped again to get gas for the bus. It wasn't pouring anymore, just kinda sprinkling. Kev and I got off the bus; Howie and AJ were asleep.
"We're missing a car," a crew member said, walking up to us.
"Shit, they killed each other," Kevin muttered. I looked up at him. He still looked a little upset. I sighed.
"Something may've happened though, that storm was pretty bad back there," I said. Kevin jumped in. "I'll drive back that way and see if they're okay."
I looked at him. "You sure?"
"Yeah."
"Okay." I shrugged my shoulders.

Kevin
Finally, I thought as I drove back the way we came. Finally off that damn bus. I was about to go crazy.
I wondered if it was the storm that held them up, or something else. If he hurt her, I swear... white boy goin' down.
As I drove back down there, a ton of images ran through my head of what he could do to hurt her. And, of course, the more I thought about it, the angrier I got and the more ready I got to kick some serious ass.
I slowed to a stop in front of a tree across of the road. I recognized the top of the vehicle behind it and knew it was one of our cars. I got out of my car and climbed over the tree.
"Kev!" Mary said, her voice a combination of surprise and relief. I was pleasantly surprised when she hugged me. She was wet and trembling slightly, but other than that, she seemed fine.
"What happened?" I asked her.
"Should be self explanatory." She gestured towards the car. I glanced at it, then back at her.
"I guess the question should be how?"
"We were arguing, he wasn't paying attention, lightning struck the tree, and bing ba da boom, we hit it."
"He didn't hurt you any, did he?"
"Physically, mentally or emotionally?"
"Um... all three?"
"Physically, no; mentally, no worse than I was before; and emotionally, no."
"So... I'm confused."
"I got to see perv, horny Nicky."
"He came onto you?"
"Yeah, I guess you would say that..."
"His ass is goin' down." I started around the car, but Mary grabbed my arm and pulled me back.
"No, Kev, let him alone. I already kicked his ass, he's been pouting ever since."
I looked her. "You sure?"
She nodded. "Yeah."
"Nick, get your ass out here."
He came around the car and looked at me.
"It's about time someone showed up."
I rolled my eyes. "C'mon."
We all climbed over the tree and got in the car, Mary up front with me.
We were all silent on the way back, each of us lost in our own thoughts, Nick sulking in the back seat. I needed to figure out some way to tell her how I felt before she left. I wondered if they'd let me take her to the airport tomorrow. I could talk to her then...
We finally got back to the bus and Brian came up to us.
"What happened?"
"Nick crashed the car." Mary raised an eyebrow.
"Don't blame me!" Nick shouted after her as she got on the bus. She flicked him off just before she disappeared inside. I hid a smile as Nick looked pissed.
"She hates me."
"Really? You couldn't tell," Brian said sarcastically. Nick shot daggers at him with his eyes.

AJ
When I woke up, I found Nick at the front of bus, standing with what I guess to be ice pressed to his jaw.
"What are you doing here?" I asked, squeezing past him.
"The car crashed."
"Not by itself it didn't."
"Okay, so I was driving. But it's not my fault!"
"Uh huh." I nodded, leaning against the counter. He glared at me and I grinned.
"What happened to you?"
He mumbled something, looking down.
"Huh? I didn't hear that."
"Mary punched me."
I stifled laughter and maintaned a straight face.
"Why?"
"I kissed her."
If I was drinking something, now would've been the time to spit it out.
"You kissed her? And she punched you? Not that I don't blame her..."
"Well, she slapped me the first two times..." he replied, giving me a look.
"The first two times? How many times did you kiss her?"
"Um, well, I dunno..."
"How exactly did you kiss her?" I asked, narrowing my eyes slightly.
"The first two were on the lips, but the others were on her neck and her shoulders and arms..."
"Dude, you sick or something? I thought you hated her."
"Well, I do, but c'mon, have you actually looked at her? She's fine as hell. Until she opens her mouth."
I smiled at Mary, who'd walked up behind Nick. He didn't know it yet and I quite enjoyed the look on her face. Nick was still going on about her, and her smile just grew bigger and bigger.
"Yeah, Nick, okay," I muttered, my eyes on Mary. What was she about to do?

Me
I listened intently to what Nick has to say, staring at AJ. Truly fascinating.
I reached forward and grabbed his butt.
"Wow, Nicky, didn't know you were such an expert on me."
He whirled around. "What the hell...?"
I grabbed his ear and dragged him over to the table, then slammed his forehead on it. Hard.
"Oh, shit," he groaned, straightening up. I grabbed his ear again.
"It's better to give than to receive, isn't it, Nicky boy? Lemme know how it feels." I licked his cheek slowly. "Mmm... tastes like pussy." Then I let him go and walked out of the room.
I heard AJ laugh and Nick groaned again.
"Hold up, Mary!" AJ called, catching up with me. "How do you know what it tastes like?"
"Don't worry, I've never done it. Just been told."
He nodded. "Oh... okay."
I headed for the back of the bus and sat down between Brian and Howie. They both looked at me.
"What'd you do to him now?" Howie asked.
"Gave him a headache... damn it, I'm still wet. I need to change." I stood up again and left the room, heading for my bunk. I changed my clothes, then after making sure the little curtain was closed tightly, pulled my blanket over myself and fell asleep, feeling pretty damn content.
