Gina, our youngest, was my fishing buddy when she was
ten years old.She and I went on numerous
weekend camping and fishing trips to
Lake Okeechobee and Chocoloskee Island in Florida.
Sometime we took her closest friend,Coreen,
with us.I remember the time on Lake Okeechobee
when we were bass fishing using live shiners as bait,
Gina had laid her rod and reel down across the boat
seats and a large bass grabbed the shiner and
jerked her rod out of the boat.
Gina is married
to a great guy,Matt.If a father could hand-pick
a son-in law,I would have picked Matt for
Gina.Matt was a single father raising two children
and Gina was a single mother raising her son,Sean.
She was working in a bank when they met.
Later she went to work as a secretary
for a law firm.Gina was convinced that her life
work was to be a school teacher and with the
support of Matt and the kids she attended night courses
at college. She went on to graduate,Magna Cum Laude.
Her law firm tried their best to keep her
by giving her raises, but she received her teachers
certificate and is now teaching 4th. grade elementary
class at a school in South Florida.
