Quick To Fix - Homemade Tasting
Spaghetti Sauce Recipe
This is a recipe that was passed on to me some time ago and I sure have enjoyed it a lot over the years. You can make it in as little as 15 minutes and you would think it was home made and had been simmering for several hours. I now pass it along to you to enjoy, as I have, as part of the benefits of taking the time to visit "Galkie's Place".
Basic Ingredients - Feeds About 6
One (1) can each of:
"Stewed" tomatoes - regular
size
"Special" tomato sauce -
regular size
tomato sauce - small can
tomato paste - small can
Galkie's Add-On Ingredients
Italian seasoning to taste
1-2 Tablespoon of sugar to neutralize
the tartness
Chopped mushrooms
Italian sausage (mild)
Frozen meatballs (Armour - Home
style) about a dozen
Crushed garlic - about a level
tablespoon
Cooked hamburger - about the amount
in one large homemade hamburger
1 Large can of beer poured into
a frozen beer mug
This recipe is very easy to make ahead of time and can be left to simmer on the stove until needed. Changing the "Stewed" tomatoes and "Special" sauce from Hunts to Del Monte changes the taste so try both to see which one you enjoy the most. The small cans of "Special" sauce are getting scarce now and I believe they are being replaced by larger cans of special flavor sauces. If you use one of the larger cans of the new flavored sauces then you may not need the small can of regular tomato sauce. Be careful with the sugar though because the more you add the sweeter the sauce gets and that makes it almost addictive which leads to a second and sometimes third helping which is not good for the waist line.
Enjoy!
