Catherine Bach was born on March 1 in Warren, Ohio and was raised in Faith, South Dakota. At the age of 8 she saw her uncle in a play. From then on she wanted to fulfil an acting career. She studied acting at UCLA. Before playing Daisy Duke she was in movies such as Thunderbolt and Lightfoot with Clint Eastwood and Hustle with Burt Reynolds, appeared in a number of TV series including "Police Woman" and "Police Story", and was a Chevrolet pitch woman. She is also an accomplished ballet and jazz dancer as well as a singer. During the off season of "The Dukes" she toured with Lorreta Lynn as her opening act as well as a backup singer. After the Dukes she starred in African Skies on TV. She is involved in animal preservation causes. She testified before congress in 1994 on behalf of the Rinoceros and Tiger Conservation Act.
