Rick Hurst was born on January 1 and was raised in Houston, Texas. Rick first appeared as Deputy Cletus Hogg as a temporary Deputy in the episode titled "Road Pirates" when in the story Enos was getting separated from his apendix by Doc Peticort. Rick appeared in prior episodes as Cletus but this was his first time as out as deputy. He then filled in as deputy when Enos was on the LAPD or when Sonny Shroyer was filming "Enos" at the start of the 1980 season. Sonny returned at the end of his series. For a while the Hazzard County Sheriff's department had three members. Rick left the show in 1983.
Some of the movies that Rick appeared in were "In the Line of Fire", "The Karate Kid III" and "Steel Magnolias".
Rick's television appearances include "Melrose Place", "Highway to Heaven", and "The Wonder Years".
