James Traficant (D-OH) has warmed my heart and restored my confidence in the honor of our Representatives in Congress again. Well, maybe not in all of them, but at least it is a start.
The man that has been spurned by his own party for not voting on a member of the minority party for Speaker of the House, and voting his conscience and in support of Dennis Hastert, has now called for the indictment of President William Jefferson Clinton once he leaves office.
Mr. Traficant, in an interview with WABC's Sean Hannity, said, "I think he perjured himself and, yes, they could indict him for perjury. Wherther they have the courage to do it, I don't know. But they should."
Mr. Traficant, who voted against impeachment in 1998, is the first congressman to call for the criminal prosecution of Mr. Clinton. He is, as if this is a surprise, the first elected Democrat to do so. Any one want to wager that he will be the only one to do so?
