Map Name | Map Description | Map Size | Terrain | # of Pl. | File Size | Map Type: |
Charred Remains.scm | A classical Blizzard-type map. Normal resources, with lots of expansions. No particular symmetry, and not made with any group of players in mind. | 192 x 192 | Ashworld | 7 | 113 kb | melee |
Curves.scm | One of my personal favorites. Modeled after Diagonals, in a way. This was made trying to get away from the traditional layouts. Symmetrical, and very, very fun. Plenty of doodads, and looks very nice. Including the little bit of eye-candy in the center. Good for Top vs Bottom. | 128 x 192 | Jungle | 8 | 97 kb | melee |
Diagonals.scm | Another one of my favorites, with a very different design. Quite hard in the beginning; makes for a fun game. Good for Right vs Left. | 192 x 128 | Jungle | 8 | 109 kb | melee |
Dots-Around-The-Ring.scm | The sequel to what has to be my most played map, Ring-Around-the-Dots. Thanks to frog-face-frown for the name inversion. A very interesting map. Slightly better balanced than Ring-Around-the-Dots, but I think the first one holds more magic. If you like Ring-Around-the-Dots, try this one. | 128 x 128 | Space | 8 | 68 kb | melee |
FlipSide.scm | The design is, again, a very new one. I've never seen it used before. However, you must play it against at least 4 CPUs, or else people will rush, and it becomes boring. This map is designed for players who are willing to wait until the game gets interesting. However, if you want a ignoble but quick win, you can also use this map. | 128 x 256 | Jungle | 8 | 101 kb | melee |
Ring-around-the-Dots.scm | Most people would agree that this is my best map. It is certainly my most-played. I made it right before Battle.net stopped working for me. During that whole time, people kept playing it, and sent me e-mails about it. This is the original, and while it may not be completely balanced as far as start positioning, no maps are, so this is a GREAT map to play, if you want an example of my maps. A sure bet for fun. And not always winnable. | 128 x 128 | Badlands | 8 | 83 kb | melee |
Arachnis.scx | My second large map. Made shortly after Pentagonal Garden, this map is a lot of fun for long battles. A beautiful design, with 8 "islands" situated on the mainland. Plenty of expansions, and many doodads make this map fun for everyone! | 192 x 192 | Twilight | 8 | 163 kb | melee |
Nachos.scx | For sure, this map is my most-played at the moment. It is in the running for my best-received, as well. Inspired by Yuhef's Squares, this has a very basic yet strangely fun design. For sure, one of my best ideas, and a map that will be played for a while to come. | 192 x 96 | Desert | 8 | 59 kb | melee |
Salt Flats of Korhal.scx | This map has a common design, with a few interesting twists. Nice for medium games, but not enough expansions for the long ones. Unless you count the middle........... | 128 x 128 | Desert | 8 | 79 kb | melee |
Cages by RetroSuper88.scm | My best micro, this map is great for after one of those long, tiring (and usually huge) maps. Rarely lost, because computers don't know what to do with micros, this is also a nice game to get that "one more win", before you sign off for the night. Extremely easy layout, with little base space, yet plenty of room for building right outside. The resources could last you forever, and are almost too easy to get to. Just have fun with this one. | 96 x 64 | Jungle | 8 | 39 kb | melee |
Micro Rectangles.scx | This micro is the opposite of Cages. On this tiny map, you will fight battle after battle after battle. Great for practice in keeping on your toes, and it always reminds you that a small attack force is sometimes worse than none at all. Fast defense is a must, and you just have to hope that your neighbor is on your side....... | 96 x 96 | Ice | 8 | 37 kb | melee |
X Marks the Spot.scm | 8 little Xs, in two straight lines. In two straight lines they broke their bones, and said their dying words, and laid down their heads. (recognize this from Madeline?) A map with two lines of 4 Xs each. Plus 12 expansions. Pretty hard, but winnable. The line down the middle with all the gas is hard to hold, yet more valuable than all the minerals on the map. For from it, you control the balance....... | 128 x92 | Space | 8 | 77 kb | melee |
Links.scm | Two entrances, made with linking bridges of high ground. Defendable, yet not for beginners. 8 expans, plus the middle. Follow the links around the map to kill, or go through the middle. The choice is yours..... | 192 x 192 | Badlands | 8 | 145 kb | melee |
Interpol.scx | As in interpolated (big word meaning stuck in between each other) a total of 12 expans, 4 of them ground accessible, 8 on high ground. 8 Bases. Every base and expan has 9 mins, and two geysers. Normal minerals. Very small ground entrances, just big enough for the biggest ground units to fit through. Hard to defend against a rush, but possible. | 192 x 128 | Twilight | 8 | 75 kb | melee |
Square Table.scm | When you play it, you will have to expand FAST. 8 expans, plus the middle. 9 mins at each base, 850 (mwahahahahahah!) each. 2 geysers, 7500 each. Middle has 16 mins, 8500. 4 geysers, 7500 each. And you start pretty much in the middle. With the expans around you. | 192 x 96 | Space | 8 | 65 kb | melee |
Pentagonal Garden.scm | My first-ever melee map. And no, it doesn't stink. It is actually quite good for long drawn out games with turns and twists and shifts in the balance of power. The middle is hard to hold against a well-orchestrated attack, and therefore, with its large mineral deposits, becomes the center of attention, making for a successful middle-of-the-map arena games. | 256 x 256 | Jungle | 8 | 248 kb | melee |
Network.scm | The Platform Network is beginning to fall apart. Can you hold it together with an iron fist, or shall you too wither as the titanium crumbles underfoot? Made 8/24/01 by Peter Gaultney (RetroSuper88). | 192 x 192 | Space | 8 | 105 kb | melee |
