A very sad accident occurred on Milligan's Denton Creek farm about noon Saturday in the family of the late F M Edge. His daughter, about 16 years of age, has since her father's death, kept house for the orphaned family, keeping the children together while her brothers tended the farm. It seems that her brother (Fred) got hold of a pistol and as the young lady was entering the house, accidently discharged the weapon, the ball passing through his sister's arm & chest, killing her instantly.

Pictured is Fred E Edge, a veteran horseback rider, and his horse "Old Dallas". Mr Edge was 86 years old when this picture was taken for the June 20,1968 rodeo parade. He never missed riding in a parade in all the years he was a resident of Archer Co, Tx. His last parade here was 1971.
Fred E Edge was born in Hill Co, Tx. He came to Archer, Co, Tx from Wise, Tx in 1908. He had farmed and worked in the oilfields most of his life, throwing in some coyboying. He was also employed by the Farmer family of the south part of Archer Co for 2 years. He married Miss Gladys Campbell 11/21/1909.
