This poem was written by a young Indian girl, in jail for drug charges and addicted to Meth. She wrote this while incarcerated

as you will  soon read, she fully grasped the horrors of the drug as she tells in this simple, yet profound poem.

The girl was released from jail, but, true to her story, the drug owned her. They found her dead not long after, with the needle still in her arm.

Please keep praying for our children, teens and young adults. Understand, this thing is worse than any of us realize.

My Name Is Meth

I destroy homes,                        When I possess you,                 I’ll own you completely,

I tear families apart,                   you’ll steal and you’ll lie,             your soul will be mine.

Take your children,                    you’ll do what you have to-

And that’s just the start.             Just to get high.                         The nightmares I’ll give you

                                                                                                While lying in bed,

I’m more costly than diamonds,  The crimes you’ll commit            the voices you’ll hear,

More precious than gold,            for my narcotic charms               from inside your head.

The sorrow I bring                      Will be worth the pleasure you’ll feel

Is a sight to behold.                   In your lungs, your nose, your arms         The sweats, The shakes,

                                                                                                The visions you’ll see,

If you need me, remember          You’ll lie to your mother;             I want you to know,

I’m easily found,                        you’ll steal from your dad,           these are all gifts from me.

I live all around you-                   when you see their tears.

In schools and In town.              Your should feel sad                  But then it’s too late,

And you’ll know in your heart,

I live with the rich;                     But you’ll forget your morals       that you are mine

I live with the poor;                    and how you were raised’           and we shall not part

I live down the street                  I’ll be your conscience,

And maybe next door.                I’ll teach you my ways.              You’ll regret that you tried me,

                                                                                                They always do,

I’m made in a lab,                      I take kids from parents,             but you came to me,

But not like you think;                and parents from kids,                not I to you.

I can even be made                   I turn people from God,

Under the kitchen sink.              And separate friends.                 You knew this would happen,

                                                                                                Many times you were told,

In your child’s closet,                 I’ll take everything from you-       but you challenged my power,

And even in the woods,              your looks and your pride,           and chose to be bold.

If this scares you to death,         I’ll be with you always-

Well it certainly should.              Right by your side.                     You could have said no,

                                                                                                And just walked away,

I have many names,                  you’ll give up everything-            If you could live that day over,

But there’s one you know best,   your family, your home,              now what would you say?

I’m sure you’ve heard of me,       your friends, your money,

My name is Crystal Meth.          Then you’ll be alone.                  I’ll be your master,

                                                                                                You will be my slave,

My power is awesome;              I’ll take and take,                       I’ll even go with you,

Try me you’ll see,                      till you have nothing more to give            when you go to your grave,

But if you do,                             when I’m finished with you,

You may never break free.          You’ll be lucky to live.                Now that you’ve met me,

                                                                                                   What will you do?

Just try me once                        If you try me be warned-            Will you try me or not?

And I might let you go,               this is no game;                        It’s all up to you.

But try me twice,                       if given the chance,

And I’ll own your soul.                I’ll drive you insane.                   I can bring you more misery

                                                  Than words can tell,

I’ll ravish your body;                   Come take my hand,

I’ll control your mind;                  let me lead you to hell.
