 October 2002…..

October 1st - The body of an unidentified young woman was found murdered near Overton Park Lake. Some vague reports have surfaced indicating the murder may have been the result of some kind of Occult ritual. No suspects have been identified.

October 2nd -Overton Park - A second female body was discovered although it appears she died at least a week prior to the first female's death. Officials decline to comment on possible Occult connections.

October 3rd-Shelby Forest - Four men, said to have been on a fishing trip, have been reported missing along North Watkins near Shelby Forest. Their boat was found floating along the water bank not far from the road. A complete search is underway, although foul weather has inhibited a thorough search of the area.

October 5th- Police have reportedly found increased evidence of late night occult activity in Overton Park. Although no more bodies have been found, citizens feel it may be only a matter of time, before the killer(s) strike again.

October 8th-Searchers along the North Watkins bottoms located a smashed and battered life vest believed to have belonged to one of the missing fishermen. The vest is said to have been utterly pulverized. A spokesman for the families states that not enough is being done to find their missing loved ones.

October 10th-The City Council today began discussions on closing Overton Park at Dusk, apparently in a desire to curtail the city's growing crime problem. When reporters asked if this was in fact related to recent reports of Occult Activity within the park, city officials declined to elaborate, stating only that it was an anti-crime measure and that other city parks may be evaluated for night closure as well.

October 11th- In a Press Conference today, Assistant Zoo Director Doctor Carl Mavek proudly announced the eminent arrival of a new exhibit. Thanks in part to a generous donation from the T.H.O.T.H. Foundation, the Overton Park Zoo will be able to gain and house the extremely rare and only recently discovered Giant Marmoset! While it won't be kept within Primate Canyon the large primate will have it's own special exhibit area. When reporters asked if this was the same Giant Marmoset that attacked and killed a San Diego Zoo Keeper last fall, Doctor Mavek would only state that every conceivable safety precaution had been taken both for Zoo staff and visitors. When a reporter for the local wrag, "Memphis Afterdark", brought up the Siberian Winter Wolf Incident of '86 the press conference was ended.

October 14th- Following advice from The Psychic Pals Network, family members of the missing fishermen have hired the services of Morgan Investigations in the hopes of finding their missing loved ones. Memphis Police have reportedly beefed up patrols in and around Overton Park.

October 15th- According to Memphis Afterdark, at least six months ago, Bio-Star Industries quietly purchased the old Dupont Properties and "set-up" shop. An anonymous Millington city official reportedly stated that the Company was using the property for research purposes. It must be noted that according to public records the Dupont Facility and grounds have never been labeled as being completely safe from the bio-hazard leak of '84. In another article of the same paper, a Mississippi farmer, Eligah Wood, states that several nights ago, he awoke to hear his livestock spooked. Upon investigating he spotted a convoy of black vans converged at the old crossroads of Highway 51 and Mississippi State Route 28, near his farm. He was also startled to see two black helicopters, almost invisible in the night sky, circling overhead. Several "guvment" men poked around a bit, then the whole convoy just up and left.

October 17th- A searcher for the missing fishermen claims he caught a glimpse of a body, or something, floating in the muck and mire. When he moved his boat up to the spot a tree branch snapped and knocked him out of the boat. He nearly drowned, other searchers nearby happened to hear his cries and pulled him out of the muck. By the time he had recovered from his ordeal and reported what he had seen, he had already been taken out of the area. Upon returning to the spot nothing unusual could be found.

October 18th- Crime wave interferes with missing fishermen Investigation, an agent for Morgan Investigations inadvertantly foiled two separate robbery attempts in Northhaven while trying to uncover clues in this ever frustrating case. The agent, who's name is not being released, is currently being treated for moderate injuries at Methodist University Hospital. Nick Morgan of Morgan Investigations states that his agent is expected to make a full recovery and is anxious to get back on the job. He goes on to state that fighting crime is not his agencies goal, but they are happy to lend a hand when needed. Memphis Police Officials declined to comment.

October 19th- The Commercial Appeal in an undercover investigation of Memphis Mental Health Institute reports a growing number of problems with safety and other concerns at the facility. The Mental Hospital released a statement saying it was doing all it could for the mentally ill of the community but given the lack of appropriate funds the situation would only get worse. Ironically in the same paper it was announced that the new Arena will cost millions more than originally estimated.

October 21st- The grisly murder of a Tipton County woman has shocked the local rural community. Ms. Agnes Hawthorne, 62, was found behind her home, apparently the victim of some wild animal attack. An agent of Morgan Investigations is believed to have found her and is himself reportedly being treated at Methodist University Hospital for severe injuries to his face. Sheriff officials are conducting a thorough investigation, but state that the agent of Morgan Investigations is not a suspect at this time. They refused to elaborate further on the topic. Mrs. Agnes a widower is survived by her Niece who is currently out of the country.

October 22nd-It was announced today that the distinguished french surgeon and master geneticist Dr. Guilliam de Morphant is scheduled to speak at Memphis State University next month. Dr. Morphant has long been an avid spokesman and lecturer on the need to advance mankind's understanding and mastering of genetics. The lecture series is sponsored in part by the THOTH Foundation.
