Divisions and Ranks of Obsidian

Obsidian Elders

Avatar of Obsidian, Lord Avatar - There is only one Lord Avatar, that is Edwrin Obsidian but it is the highest ranking position among the ranks of Obsidian.  The Lord Avatar has total command over the entire guild.  Commanding all legions and directs all guild activities.

Obsidian High Priest, Lord High Priest - The Lord High Priest works hand in hand with the Lord Avatar to run the guild.  Second only to the Lord Avatar the Lord High Priest is in command in the Lord Avatar's absence.  Having authority to remove and promote all members of Obsidian with little consent.

Hall of Brotherhood

Full Brother/Sister - As a Full Brother your are a major leader within the guild. As a Full Brother or Sister you will be given the responsibility of training Apprentices, leading armies into battle, and have the chance of one day being advanced to the Obsidian High Council. The laws are, no brother shall raise a blade to another brother other than in practice or in jest. That law will cause expulsion if broken.

Hall of Apprentices

Master of Apprentices - The Master of Apprentices is giving the grueling task of training the best of the best of Obsidian.  Their job is to whip the current apprentices into shape and move them along their way to the Hall of Brotherhood.   Apprentice Master - An Apprentice Master is in their last stage of Apprenticehood and are on their way to becoming a Brother or Sister of Obsidian. As an Apprentice Master they are tested throughly and are racked by task and such... all to prepare them for the greatest test... the Ritual. The ultimate challenge of bravery and skill...

High Apprentice - After proving to your mentor that you are above the rank of Apprentice through quest and being actively involved with guild events and guild wars you will hold this rank. Not given much more power, just one more stepping stone on a long path... keep up the good work.

Apprentice - The first step beyond that of the Army of Obsidian. You now enter the Hall of Apprentices which are much nicer than the Barracks we provide for the Army. As an Apprentice you will be given a mentor and he will give you quest and guide you on your future path.

The Army of Obsidian

Lord General of the Obsidian Army, Lord High General - In charge of directing combat within the guild.   Involved with training of our soldiers for battle and raids upon the realms of Norrath.  Third in command of the guild and although placed as the leader and member of the Army of Obsidian is actually a member of the Obsidian Elders.   Also considered the champion of the guild, and battles the strongest foe for the honor of Obsidian.

High Dragon - The High Dragon is just under the Lord High General in the Army, BUT NOT, in the entire guild. There can only be two reigning High Dragon's at a time. If the Lord High General thinks that another can take the position of a current one, a duel will discover which is better for the position. The defeated High Dragon is demoted to High General.

High General - A High General's duties are merely to be part of the War Council. In case of war their advise is taken in by the entire council.

General - As a general and High General you begin to gain underlings. This is the first time you will be trusted with a platoon. Also your suggestion will be taken under consideration by the war council.

Lieutenant - The Lieutenants of Obsidian are directly underneath the Generals of the Army.  It may take a member of Obsidian decades to achieve this rank unless he shows tactical genius and/or a true act of bravery and sacrifice for the Brotherhood.

Dragon - A Dragon is a trusted warrior now... They have proven themselves many times. A legion of Dragons will be the ones sent on a mission lead by the Lord High Dragon Or High General. This is a well respected postition.

Sergeant - A position for those who have proven themselves beyond a soldier but are not quite ready for the responsibility. Still a low rank, but moving up.

Footman - A footman. The heart and soul of the guild. The men who risk their lives daily with no REAL benefit for themselves. They model the way we all should be...

Hall of Novices

Master of Novices - The Master of Novices is the leader of the Hall of Novices commanding all the Novices in their duties.  He is responsible for reporting whom is ready to move on to the Army and to advance members through the Hall of Novices teaching them our ways.  Part of the Hall of Novices only in name, the rank truly holds a position on the High Council and is among the Officers of Obsidian. 

Acolyte - The Highest rank within the Hall of Novices and on their final quest within this hall. Their next step is into the military. Acolytes test usually include explaining the guild to superiors.

Novice - The Novice, the middle rank in the lowest division. Given very little power and just striving their way become an Acolyte.

Initiate - The first rank you will hold within the guild.
