In 1988, Sega released Phantasy Star for the Master System. It proved to be an icredible interactive role playing adventure that thrust the player into a electronic world of joy an excitement. Star actually changed the way rpgs were defined; it abandoned common role playing themes and introduced a high tech world filled with realistic characters. Since the Master System was technically superior to the current hardware of the day, Sega was able to use four megs of memory, when it's peers were using one and two mega carts, to greatly enhance Phantasy Star. It used these extra megs of memory to push Star far above every other game on the market; I would go so far to say that it was the best looking and sounding game of the 80's. Star injected refreshing ideas into the stale rpg market of the time with such inovative ideas like first person 3-D dun, highly detailed animated eneimes, vehicles, and realistic main characters that possesed truth depth. Phantasy Star was the first epic role playing game. This electro sitelet is deicated to this classic as well as it's sequels.
