Aillen are no bigger than halflings and have long claws which hang low to the ground. They look like miniature shadows. Their skins are dark and shadowy as only hints of light reflect off of them. They prize music and always have a magical instrument in possession.
The Aillen are somewhat timid creatures that live in lairs outside of towns. They are seldom seen and often flee at the first sign of danger. Aillens will however defend their lairs to the death. They feed on small humanoid children primarily and always attack the smallest person in the party this is due to the fact that the Aillen is also quite small.
Combat: These creatures are timid and prefer to use the cover of the night to hide their movements. Then they put as many people to sleep as possible with their instrument. They enjoy attacking from behind walls in alley ways using their phase door ability. They usually flee at the first sign of real danger.
Instrument (Su): Aillen's are capable of channeling a powerful sleep spell through their prefered instruments. Anyone within 30 feet of the Aillen when they channel the spell must succeed at a will save (DC 18) or fall under the effects of a sleep spell as if targeted directly. This effects creatures of up to 8 HD.
Poison (Ex): Bite, Fortitude save (DC 18) initial 1d6 rounds of deep sleep, secondary 1d6 minutes of deep sleep.
Spell-Like Abilities (Su): At will-Expiditious Retreat, Jump, Burning Hands, Sleep, Grease, Magic Missile, Fire Ball, Gaseous Form, Silent Image, Ventriloquism, Ghost Sound, Spider Climb, Phase Door.
Aversion to Daylight (Ex): Aillens are creatures of the night. While they loathe all light, if exposed to natural daylight (not merely a daylight spell), they suffer a -4 morale penalty to all skill checks, saves, and attack rolls.
Musical Weakness: Aillens love music and are easily influenced through song. Anyone who sings or plays a song is able to hypnotize an Aillen as the same spell. Aillens recieve no saving throws against bardic music.
