A Dark Trolls for the most part resemble other trolls only slightly more huskier. Their skin is dark blueish green. On it's forehead extends two devilish six-inch yellow tainted horns. The hair on it's head is long and thick allowing only their long elven ears to emerge.
It is said that the Dark Trolls are older than elves and are supposedly immortal. A great queen is said to lead the very few that remain. The ancient elven lore says that almost all beings that have come into existence are made from the blood of Dark Trolls and a long forgotten flame known as the Elven Fire. Dark Trolls who were burned pure by the Elven Fire produced elves and many other humanoids. However when evil was the intent of the Flame it would produce such monsters like ferocious Dragons.
The Queen of these horrid creatures is always a 15th level cleric. She is able to cast priest spells from the following domains Chaos, Destruction, Evil, and War.
The queen usually gives birth to one Dark Troll every year and it is a most anticipated day for all Dark Trolls. It is a sworn oath that she is the only female that is bred and duals between the strongest males are held to insure a strong survival for Dark Trolls. When a queen dies battle between females take place to see who will take her place. The fight for leadership usually ends with death and the creation of fresh Trolls to cause chaos!
Unlike normal Trolls, Dark Trolls are able to speak most languages. They are so ancient that most learn several languages in their lifetime.
Combat: Dark Trolls usually provoke violence and have no fear of being hit in battle. Pain seems to be their only pleasure whether on the recieving or dealing end it does not matter. They prefer to use large two handed weapons or their claws.
Rend (Ex): If a dark troll hits with both claw attacks, it latches onto the opponent's body and tears the flesh. This attack automatically deals an additional 2d6+10 points of damage.
Regeneration (Ex): Fire and acid deal normal damage to a dark troll. If a dark troll loses a limb or body part, the lost portion regrows in 1 round. Any lost limb is likely to spawn a troll (see below).
Spawn Troll (Ex): When a dark troll takes damage from a slashing or piercing weapon their ancient blood is spilled on the ground. For each slashing or piercing attack roll 1d6. This is the number of rounds that it takes for the splatter of blood to regenerate into a full blown troll. The new troll has a number of hit points equal to five times the number of rounds it took to fully regenerate. A weapon with fire or acid properties renders a dark trolls blood ineffective as far as spawning trolls and being able to regenerate.
