Combat Systems & Rules


     Important: Always log a battle and send it to whomever you report too!  If you don't do this then you will not earn the EXP from the battle!
     Special Rule: If, during any battle, a char is logged off-line or simply "dissappears" from battle.   His/her opponents have the option to an automatic                    Aggrivated Assult the next time the characters meet.

- Battle Types -

     Sparring: Sparring is a battle between two characters, it is a mock battle used for training.  This type of battle serves the purpose of gaining EXPs.

     Honor Match:  An honor match is a battle between two characters in which one, or both char's are fighting for their honor.

     Slave Match:  A slave match is a battle between two characters in which one fights to stay free, and the other fights to enslave his target.
          (Note: During war time between any guilds or groups, an enslaved person is considered a Prisoner of War(Pow).)

     Release Match:  A battle match in which two characters fight for the release of a slave or POW.

     Death Match:  This is a battle between two characters in which they fight to the death.  At the end of the battle, if the defender has won the fight,
          he/she has the right to decide if his/her attacker is to be slain.

     Mass Spar:  A mock battle between three or more characters designed for combat training for war time.

     War Battle:  A war is a battle between two or more individuals or groups in a battle.  At the end of battle, the winning team or individual decides
          which characters are captured as POWs or slain.

     Assassination Attempt:  The attempt to kill a character without a fight.

     Theft Attempt:  The attempt to steal money from another character.

     Aggrivated Assult:  An attempt to start a fight with another char who is not willing to fight.
          (Note: You can only try an Aggrivated Assult if your character has been "aggrivated" by the person you wish to attack)

 

- Rolling to Hit Target -

   Definition of THAC0:  To Hit Armour Class 0.

   1. Subtract target's AC from your THAC0.
   2. Roll a 1d20, if your roll is higher then that amount, hit is successful.
        (Note: A roll of 1 is an automatic miss & a roll of 20 is an automatic hit)
        (Special Note: If your roll is at least 10 over that amount, it's a critical hit, which means a physical attack is double the damage.)

 

- Rules of Engagement -

   These are the Rules of Engagement for Sparring, Slave Matches, Death Matches, Honor Matches, Mass Spars, Wars Battles:

     1. Both characters declare HP, AC, THAC0, Attack Dice, Battle Type and Date.
     2. Roll a 1d6 to see who gets to attack first, higher roll wins.
     3. Attack Round(Skip if casting a spell):
          a. Declare action.
          b. Roll to hit target.
          c. If target is hit, roll for damage of weapon.
     4. Spell Round(Skip if you attacked):
          a. Declare action and effects.
          b. Roll for successful casting.
          c. If spell is successful, it's effects take place.
     5. Item Round(Note: You must have bought an item to have one to use!):
          a. Declare the use of an item.
          b. Roll following the items instructions.
     6. Next characters turn, start at step 3.
         (Note: If a character has a Dual-Attack ability, he/she may attack twice each turn.)
     7. Battle continues till only one character is left, that character wins.
     8. All characters send a copy of the log to your overseer to gain your EXPs.
         (Note: EXPs and Level ups do not take effect until authorized by your overseer!)

   These are the Rules of Engagement for Assassination Attemps:
        (Note: You can only use this attempt on people of higher ranks, Wizard's & those with the ability Preception cannot be assassinated.
        You can only use this attempt if it's a job given to you by a guild of high rank authority.)

     1. Declare an Assassination Attempt, THAC0, the target's SN and the Date.
     2. Target declares HP and AC.
     3. Attempt Round:
          a. Declare action.
          b. Roll to hit target.
          c. If hit is successful, roll 1d100 and subtract that from target's HP.
     4. If target survives the attempt damage, your assassination has failed, he/she has the option for an automatic aggrivated assult.

   These are the Rules of Engagement for a Theft Attempt:
        (Note: Wizard's & those with the ability Preception cannot not be stolen from.)

     1. Declare a Theft Attempt, THAC0, the target's SN and the Date.
     2. Target declares AC and amount of gold he/she has.
     3. Attempt Round:
          a. Declare action.
          b. Roll to hit target.
          c. If hit is successful, roll 1d100 for the amount of gold stolen.
                 (Note: You cannot steal more then the character has.)
     4. If the hit was not successful, target has the choice of an automatic aggrivated assult.

   These are the Rules of Engagement for an Aggrivated Assult:

     1. Declare an Aggrivated Assult, THAC0, target's SN and the Date.
     2. Target declares AC.
     3. Attempt Round:
          a. Declare action.
          b. Roll to hit target.
          c. If hit is successful, declare the type of battle you wish to engage target in, then follow Rules of Engagement for that battle type.
             (Note: You must engage the target in a Slave Match or Death Match if successful.)
             (Special Note: If you have the option of automatic Aggrivated Assult, simply declare Aggrivated Assult and type of battle to be engaged.)
