This is a catalog of spells that can be used in combat by those with the abilities to use them.
(Important Note:  You cannot cast spells that are not of your class type or level!)

Create Your Own Spell Book:
     Due to the fact that there will be alot of different spells, it wouldn't be a bad idea to create your own personal spell book.  Simply copy each spell you wish to have in your book to a document file, organize them anyway you wish, and when ever you get into a battle, have your spell book ready for quick reference.


Successful Casting

     To successfully cast a spell subtract 5 from your THAC0, add any modifers, and roll a 1d20.
     If you roll over the amount total then you have successfully cast the spell.
     Note:  If you roll a 1, the spell is an automatic fail, if you roll 20, it's and automatic success.

          THAC0 - 5 + Modifiers = Amount you must roll to successfully cast a spell.

(Special Note: Any spell that has an Automatic Hit Modifer is a spell that is an automatic success, no need to roll)

Duration

     The duration of a spell tells how long the spell lasts in turns.  Instant means it happens at the time of casting and has no lingering effects.


Level 1 Combat Spells

Fire Bolt
Spell Type:  Offensive & Energy
Description:  Launch a small ball of fire at your target.
Duration: Instant
THAC0 Modifier:  Automatic Hit
Effect:  Cause 1hp of damage

Healing Touch
Spell Type:  Defensive
Description:  Heal damage to your self or to your ally in battle.
Duration: Instant
THAC0 Modifier:  Automatic Hit
Effect:  Heal 1hp

Vampiric Touch
Spell Type:  Necromancy
Description:  Drain anothers strength to fuel your own.  Roll 1d2 for every level of your character to a max of 10d2.  Subtract that from opponents HP and add it to your own.
Duration:  Instant
THAC0 Modifier:  None
Effect:  1d2 damage per level of your character, add amount of damage to your HP.

Static Shock
Spell Type:  Offensive & Energy
Description:  Instantly zap your opponent with a static shock.
Duration:  Instant
THAC0 Modifier:  None
Effect:  Cause 1d3 points of damage

Flying Disc
Spell Type:  Invention
Description:  Hurl a wooden disc with a razor metal edge around it.
Duration:  Instant
THAC0 Modifier:  -10
Effect:  Cause 1d4 points of damage 


Level 2 Combat Spells

Haze
Spell Type:  Defensive
Description:  Create a haze that gives you a sight advantage.
Duration:  2 turns per level of caster.
THAC0 Modifier:  None
Effect:  Opponents THAC0's get a +1

Minor Healing
Spell Type:  Defensive
Description:  Heal wounds.
Duration:  Instant
THAC0 Modifier:  -10
Effect:  Heal 1d4 points of damage

Flash
Spell Type:  Energy
Description:  Create a brief flash of light to disorient your opponents sight
Duration:  1 turn
THAC0 Modifier:  -5
Effect:  +3 to opponents THAC0

Magic Arrow
Spell Type:  Offensive
Description:  Fire a magical arrow at an opponent.
Duration:  Instant
THAC0 Modifier:  -5
Effect:  1d6 points of damage
