You start out this chapter in the castle of Santeem. You are Princess Alena a level 1 Princess, only daughter of King Santeem, caught escaping the castle before, and want to test your strength in the "outside world". Your father however has different plans for you and orders you to never leave the castle. You don't take well to this measure though and seek a way out of the castle.
You don't start your mission well equiped, but you do have 100 GP, and in one of the drawers your room there is a Feathered Hat (look carefully). You just have yourself on your team and you have a very strong will to escape the reach of your father. First you need a way out, second you need equipment, and third you need sanctuary.
Here is the quickest way out; after talking to the King, Talk to Brey (the old man that sticks out in the throne room) and Cristo. To get to Cristo go down stairs and head right to the room by the wall which you can't see in (Cristo also sticks out). Following this go to the stairs and down to the front gate, there will be two gaurds who block your way out every time you try to leave...Talk To Them And Do What They Say. They tell you to return to your room so go to the stairs and climb to the throne room, and then head right to the stairs heading up, and your room is the middle room. SEARCH the odd panel and say YES to kicking it down. Just after falling down go up, to your left, and fall down again. Last it's just a hop skip and a jump away from the outside.
If you didn't explore the castle and talk to everybody I urge you to do so, but now for outside. Right before you make it to Surene (or anywhere else you are going) you see Cristo and Brey following you. They stop you and inform you they are going to be on your team. Now you kinda have what is suggested in DWIII about having a "Soldier", a "Pilgrim", and a "Wizard" (this will be usefull, but Alena is the one to defeat the last bosses). After recieving the two on your team go directly back into the castle and talk to King Santeem. He will now grant you permission to go anywhere in Santeem, but not Endor (the only other country you can get to in Chapter II). He also grants you permission to come and go as you please in Santeem Castle. Then leave the castle and go to Surene talk to everybody. Surene will now be your HQ because it have a Healer that can save, an Inn, a Weapon Shop, and an Item/Armor shop. Tempe (the next town you'll have to go to) doesn't have a Healer that can save or a working shop, but they do have an Inn.
Now you'll have to build up power because level 1 characters aren't good to use. You may be asking yourself "What level do I power them up to?", well it's not what level but how powerful. What I mean by that is you can build youself up to level 8 and be defeated by weak monsters. Try powering yourself up until you can buy the maximum weapons, shields, armor, helms, and items for each character (gradually). Another piece of advice is to gain Cristo's *Upper* spell and Brey's *Sap* spell (it'll help you defeat the bosses of Tempe). Finally get powerful enough that you can defeat each enemy with almost a single blow and enough that the enemies almost always miss you with an attack. After building up enough power go up from Surene following the grassy path and keep following it until you get to a sign, go right from that sign and you'll get to Tempe.
When you get to Tempe you'll see the town in dissarry. Talk around everywhere except for the Healer's hut (it's the only building with a roof) and you'll find out that there has been girls being sacrificed to some monsters and the Mayor's duaghter (Shop owner's Fiance) is next. Whenever you are being asked to Volunteer say YES.Finally go see the Shaman (I call them Healer's), but before you do rest at the Inn. You'll be stuck into a basket and hauled to the alter. Next is the Battle with the Chameleon Humanoid and two Rabid Hounds. Start the Battle out with Cristo casting *Upper* on Brey - Cristo - Alena in that order. Have Alena ATTACK the first Rapid Hound and Brey cast *Sap* on the second. Next Turn Cristo should be casting *Upper* on himself; while this is going on have Alena now ATTACK the second Rabid Hound until it dies and Brey casting *Icebolt* on the first until it dies. Have Cristo heal you group whenever their lives are low being a major priority. If Cristo get's through his rounds of *Upper* before the Rabid Hounds are defeated have him start the sequence again but watch his MP. If Alena or Brey kills one Rabid hound before the other have them help with the second. After defeating the two Rabid Hounds it SHOULD be three on one; it isn't that hard to defeat him.
Congradulations! you just saved the town and reopened the store. Go back to the alter and SEARCH the area where you fought you should find the Lifeforce Nuts. Leave Tempe to the upper end of town and go right to Frenor. Talk to everyone again and you'll see a Fake princess being taken away. Again you'll have to save the day so power yourself up to the same boundries, but instead get Brey's *Outside* and *Return* spells and Cristo's *Antidote* spell. Something important you should've done in every town including Frenor is talk to everybody at Night they say different things. Whenever you feel you are strong enough go to the cave south of Frenor (where do you think it is). If you die then try again. Whenever you enter the cave follow the path until you get to the first intersection, keep straight and you will make it to a place that looks like another alter, don't go down but go behind it and keep folowing the path until you get to the stairs. Downstairs you just go right then down until you get to a place almost filled with bones. The secret to this room is to stay to the right and downward, the next room should by the Golden Bracelet. I suggest you cast *Outside* then either *Return* or a Wing of Wyvern to get back, but you can do what you want. Go back to Frenor at night and go to the graveyard and whenever confronted say YES.you'll now get the Thief's key from May, with this you now can go into all the doors (except the gray one and the ones made out of bars) you couldn't before.
Now it's off to the desert Bazaar, from the cave south of Frenor go down and left (whenever you see desert go to it). There will be a patch of heavy grass beside some water, that's the Bazaar. Like usual talk to everybody in the town and search every container. You should be stopped half-way through the place by a Guard and to go to Santeem Castle because of your father. That isn't really necessary if you've already made it to Chapter III before but if you've never beat Chapter II go back to the castle and talk to everyone and then talk to everyone in Surene. You should gather the information about the Birdsong Nectar, it's southwest from the Bazaar. Build your power up again until you can handle the monsters around the tower with ease and until you get fully equiped. Whenever you go inside go straight up until you get to some steps down, there is an Inn down there. Now you can build your power up at the bottom of the tower until you can handle them easily. To get through this tower go down from the Inn and to the left, after that up to the door and up the stairs. Follow the wall down until the opening and through; now go down and stay as low as you can there should be another pair of stairs at the end. The next floor you want to go to the left wall and up from there (don't fall down the hole), there should be steps at the end. This floor doesn't have any chose but one so take it. You should be pretty battered at the steps but don't worry because there are no enemies on the next floor. Now that you are at the top you should see two elves talking remember what they say in Chapter V. When they leave search the four spots of sand. Now that you have the Birdsong Nectar leave Birdsong Tower and go to Santeem Castle. When you get back administer the Birdsong Nectar to the King, he should now grant you permission to go to Endor.
To go to Endor you need to either go southeast from the cave south of Frenor or go east from the Bazaar and to the Shrine. On the other side of the Shrine is an Inn. Go here in both day and night. At night you should see Ragnar, if you talk to him he's been looking for the Chosen One (Chapter V). Spend a little time at this Inn building up power, not that long just enough to get use to the enemies. Next go down and left to Endor in a straight line. Endor is a booming castle and has your final five bosses. Talk to everyone in the town at both day and night then go into the castle in the daytime and talk to all in the throne room you should now be allowed into the fighter's arena to fight. Go there and they sell Alena's most powerful weapon in this chapter, the Iron Claw. Get it even if you have to save money. Build up power around the castle until you have Brey's *Snowstorm* spell and Cristo's *Healmore* spell. At levels I've beat Chapter II from 12-18 so build up a lot of strength in this are because it's got Metal Slimes. As for the Casino save enough money to buy enough Medical Herbs to fill Alena's hands and the rest of the money should go into the Casino. My advice is don't gamble even though I won enough to by two Metal Babble Shields; my reson for this is I lost all the money in the next double or nothing. Gambling is the only way to get a Mirror of Ra in Chapter II, but it isn't necessary. After building up enough power go into the tournament, but remember to fill Alena's hands wil Medical Herbs. Alena is all you have now to defeat the last five bosses. You may have to die a few times but just keep trying, the reason I'm not telling you how to fight is I use a hit-4-hit approach (that really isn't a good approach).
After defeating Linguar they call for Necrosaro, by the look of him on your enemy info sheet he seem stronger than all the other enemies which should scare you. He doesn't come out so the King of Endor proclaims you winner of the tournament. You then find yourself in the throne room of Endor after talking to the King of Endor go out of the castle a Guard of Santeem tells you something has happened in Santeem Castle and to go there right now, then he dies. Now is the time where no enemies roam Santeem and Endor so go to Birdsong Tower and the cave south of Frenor and loot them. After that you return to Santeem Castle and no music is playing and no one is there except for a cat. The questions come up about Santeem after you leave the castle.
