Cloud looked across the sea.High up on the tree, he felt the emptiness and longing inside him more than ever.A month since she had been gone...Gone just like the other one.The other one that he had loved just as much, probably.Just when he had realised that his true place was with her, she had...gone...
Aeris had told him one night, that he must go back and find Tifa before it was too late. She wanted them to be happy and knew, Cloud would never truly be happy, unless he had someone to love. And that person always was to be Tifa Lockheart.Never Aeris Gainsborough.Never, even if it hurt the flowergirl so badly to know that.
Cloud felt a tear trickle down his cheek and quickly wiped it away.Tifa.He had known her for so long, but had been so blind, he had always loved her most, even more than Aeris.Aeris was sweet and beautiful, but somehow, it had to be Tifa...Aeris was dead.Sweet flowergirl, whom he had promised to be a bodyguard to.And failed to protect her when she needed it.Why had innocent girls died, while he, someone so stupid and such a failure had always lived?Aeris deserved better. She shouldn't have loved him, if she knew that his heart truly did belong to Tifa...but for quite some time, even after her death, Cloud had loved the young, beautiful flowerseller, the last of the Ancients and pined for her day and night, until he left one night to sopmehow be with her once more, then found, to his surprise that he needed to be with Tifa instead. But when he returned, Tifa had left. The bar was closed and two weeks later, news came that young Tifa Lockheart had taken her own life by jumping from a cliff into the ocean, glittering dangerously, invitingly, below.
Now there was nothing left.No Tifa, no Aeris. What had he done to be so cursed?Cloud came to a final decision. He hopped down from the tree and walked briskly to a cliff. The very same cliff that Tifa had jumped from.He looked out at the waves and closed his eyes. The wind caressed his blonde hair and seemed to whisper in two voices, that vaguely sounded like Aeris and Tifa,"Cloud, do you want us to be happy?"
He put one foot over the edge of the cliff.Once more he heard the voices. He stepped back onto safe ground."Thank you."he whispered."I'll never forget you two, my two sweet angels.I know I never made you happy, but I will always love both of you and you will be in my heart.Hopefully, if I am forgiven, someday I will join you both.Farewell."He knelt on the grass and started to cry."Thank you..."whispered the wind."Goodbye Cloud, we will see you again.Thank you..." Cloud covered his face with his hands.
Author's note: This was easy and fun to write.I didn't want to have an Aeris or Tifa bias, so I just made the story into a sad one.I hope that's ok.
