A good RPG. A fairly good plot, with a nice, traditional battle system
with some very cool spells, beautiful graphics, and GREAT music. The main
thing I don't like about Suikoden II is, (except for a few exceptions),
is you never really connect with the characters. Sure, its cool having
108 characters to collect, but you don't connect with them. Most of them
are just 'there'. Also it could have been a little more challenging, and
a bit longer. Enough with the faults, and lets get to the good stuff. This
game is VERY, VERY addictive. You won't want to stop playing, and you WILL
lose much sleep in the process of playing Suikoden II. The battle system
is turn-based, but ocasionally a little real-time as well. The spells and
attacks are very well done. The graphics are just beatiful, with nice hand-drawn
characters during gameplay, and some cool CG cutscenes in-between. The
beginning cinema is one of the best I've seen. But, in my opinion the best
part about Suikoden II is the music. It's just incredible. In fact, during
the closing credits it says; PERFORMED BY WARSAW PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA
AND CHORUS. You know the music has got to be good when you have a western-world
professional orchestra doing the music. An excellent RPG, that any RPG
fan would be wise to check out.
