Spider-Man, Spider-Man, does whatever a spider can. In this game it's all true. Well, Whatever Spider-Man can really. Yeah, I just got this game and it does a good job of making you believe your in the shoes of your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. Oh yeah, did I mention Spider-Man is my favorite Marvel character?

Graphics

This version is better looking than the PSX and the N64 version, but not by much. It just looks a little more cleaned up with better textures on the characters and on some billboards. Though it is still a little bit blocky. The levels are well made, but all you really have are tall buildings that Spider-Man has to swing onto and inside buildings, where you'll have to crawl on the ceilings and into ventilation shafts. It's really cool sneaking around and then dropping on an unsuspecting enemy. THWIP! Anyway, really solid graphics, but it really could have been the best version in terms of graphics.

Sound

Very cool sound. It's like you're watching a comic-book especially with Stan Lee nararrating the whole thing. All the punches, kicks and groans are right on along with the webbing being "thwiped". The character voices suit each character and the one-liners from Spider-Man are funny the first time you hear it. After the 3rd to 4th times I just got kinda bored. The coolest part was when I heard the original theme to Spider-Man on the menu screen. You, like me, will probably be humming that tune for a while.

Control

This is where the game slips a little bit. Swinging around with ol' Spidey is fine, but the camera angles can get pretty cumbersome especially when your in tight spaces like ventilation shafts. Your pressing up to go forward, then the camera angle changes and your pressing up and going down. Frustrating sometimes, but you'll get used to it. Spidey has his share of new moves like a web-dome, web ball, and web spikes to inflict more damage along with his old repetoire of webbing his enemies. You can do pretty much anything you want in the game, but you'll still have to advance the story yourself.

Overall

Howcome it took me so long to play this game on the DC. Maybe cause I don't have any money. Hahahaha. Anyway, if you ever wanted to play as Spider-Man this is your game. Although some may find it a little short, there are some very cool extras in this game. Extras like new costumes including the symbiote costume and the Spider-Man 2099 costume. This will be enough to keep you busy for hours.
