3/2/00VO:OT Release Estimate Sega's very popular mech combat game Virtual On: Oratario Tamgram is looking at a Spring release date. Of course there is still no word on the condition of the online and controll stick situation, Activision will hopefully make the right decision. Smello-Vision??? It has been confirmed by Digiscent that they are planning to release a device that will bring the idea of "smello-vision" back to life, but it is going to be released for the Dreamcast. This idea seems kind of odd. Will current games use react to the device, and do we really want to know what a zombie, with dead flesh(well duh, it is dead), smell like? 02/27/00RUMOR: Toy Commander 2 In the latest addition to the Offical Dreamcast Magazine (issue 4), had Toy Commander 2 as one of their rumors. The reason for the rumor is because Frederic Raynal, boss of No Cliche', is very much into creating a long running series, so a sequal to Toy Commander could be very likely, but for now No Cliche is creating another title which, if follows TC's reputation, should be very good called Agartha. Stay tuned for more details conserning a possible sequal. Samba De Amigo Sonic Team has been known for developing some amazing games, but lately it has been acting a little strange. Sonic Team has now confirmed the release of Samba De Amigo for the Dreamcast. Samba De Amigo is a dance-based game where you follow the movement directions to complete each level. As some of you may know, the game has you actually control maraca-style controllers, but there is no word if the Dreamcast release will implement the stylish controllers. Virtual On Confirmed Sega has announced that Virtual On: Oratorio Tanqram will be making its way to the US. This announcement comes after Sega almost decided against bringing it to the US because it believes that the Dreamcast is being flooded with too many arcade games. Anyone that wanted to see a US release of the game can breathe a sigh of relief and thank Sega for changing its mind. Pod Racer Arcade Details At the AOU 2000 Amusement Expo arcade show, Sega of Japan and LucasArts revealed details concerning the arcade version of Star Wars Episode 1 Racer. Unlike the N64 and PC versions, the arcade version will actually have you controlling both thrusts separately, like in the movie. Also, like Daytona USA, Pod Racer will support a 4-man race between you and your friends. Pod Racer is due this Spring in Japanese arcades. Same Old Story Majesco has once again delayed the anticipated game Rainbow 6. As you may know Rainbow 6 was originally a launch title for the Dreamcast that was held over to October. After October it was delayed until December, then January, and so on. Majesco has been reportedly fixing the graphics which have been said to not be up to par with most of the current Dreamcast games. Hopefully, Majesco will be able to fix the game before its current scheduled release of March 21. Crazy Taxi 2 Possibly in the Works! Another rumor has begun throughout the web that SEGA has already begun the planning for the sequel to SEGA's monster Crazy Taxi. Note though that this has not been officially announced by SEGA so this might not be truth, it is a rumor. Although, the idea of a Crazy Taxi 2 seems very smart. Sega Rally 2 Online?! There is another rumor that SEGA might be re-releasing Sega Rally 2 with online support this fall! As you may know, this was SEGA's original plan to begin with but they decided not to feature it online to get it out faster. This is also just a rumor so we'll just have to wait and see. More News Concerning Virtual On After Actizision's announcement to release Virtual On: Oratorio Tangram in the US we were thrilled, and today more news came out about the upcoming game. It turns out that Activision may not release the dual stick controllers, which some say are essential to playing VO:OT. Also the game might be released without Internet play, since the game is going to come out earlier than SEGA's Online Support really begins. Let's just hope that this isn't Activision's final decision. Japanese Sales Charts Here are the game sales figures for Dreamcast mentionables in Japan for the week of 2/14-2/21.
