.Guild tag must show. This essentially means that you can go Roleplaying but you can't go Anonymous. Take pride in the fact that you are a Viking Lord. You will also find a warmer welcome from other members if you show up on their guild list. It makes for a tighter guild and we encourage you to go normal play. We do understand if circumstances call for you going anon now and then but please let the guild or an officer know first. Sometimes people will bug the hell out of you or you absolutely need silence. But don't make a habit out of it. Its bad for morale. And if we let one person do it, we have to let everybody do it.
.Make the guild look good. This is the Don't be stupid rule. No retards or monkeys in this guild and keep it that way rule. It doesn't mean you have to be a crusader, it simply means that you play within the games scope of honorable conduct. This rule might still seem vague, but not if you think of it as the Opposed to making the guild look bad rule. This is mostly common sense stuff but I will list some examples: No kill stealing, ninja looting, or randomly pissing off people just for the hell of it. There is a time and place for everything. We are not goody knights but at the same time we are honorable in our conduct. If in fact you feel the situation calls on you to fracture your own reputation or that it might and that you must do one of the above, make sure it does not leave our guild in a bad light. In this case, you either go anon or remove yourself from the guild if necessary and for a damn good reason. If you still have inquiries as to just how far you can go before setting me(Sindarr) or the other officers a blaze, talk to an officer. Remember, by making yourself look stupid, you make the guild look stupid for having you. So keep the conduct respectable if you get my drift. I don't like looking anymore stupid than I already do.
.No guild spamming. This seems vague as well but it really is not. No one gives two cents if you talk and have yourself a good time just be considerate of others. This means no whining, begging, or constant requests for help. Now sure, we expect you to ask for help, but be intelligent and realize other members have their own agenda as well and don't need you forcing them into anon to get peace. So please keep the stupid questions down to a minimum and the insufferable whining out of the guild. Whining has destroyed more guilds than I can count and I see no reason why we should allow it. Also the majority of the guild never whines. U will stick out like a sore thumb and people will ignore u, so be smart. And for a long time no one ever had to say anything about the language we used. But for Christ sakes, keep it down. Some people are offended by it. And I personally believe you need a good reason to be cussing on guild chat or any other for that matter. Cussing only makes the guild look crude and immature. And I'm not particularly fond of looking that way.
.Communicate problems. If you have not noticed, we have had MIA's in the past that sometimes return. The guild would appreciate knowing when you are having problems with it or are going to take a leave for a bit. By communicating, you are informing us so that we can make plans and such. It is well known that players who ever leave in the first place have problems and hardly ever come back for good. I am not saying that we won't take you back, but I am saying that if you do want to come back we will be a hell of a lot more understanding if you communicated your problems in the first place and showed the guild some sort of respect. In other words, don't count on us to accept you with open arms if you leave and refuse to contact anyone beforehand. You may find that no one wants you back. The determination for a drawn line will go with majority consensus here.
.Secondaries are allowed. This was once a subject of great debate. Now it is accepted that secondaries are a regular part of the Viking Lords strategy of family ties. As far as primaries alone, the rule stands that primary characters must be in the Viking Lords. Having secondaries in another guild is not disallowed but is extremely discouraged. So far I've yet to see it work. You are more than welcome to try and disprove me, but so far no one has. In the past we've allowed for secondaries of other guilds to join us as long as they played as much as a primary would. It resulted in them logging on only once a month maybe and was irritating to say the least. This was a vague rule and one which couldn't work so for now on we don't allow it. As for our own secondaries, it is always preferred that members secondaries join our guild over any other. But I personally believe that any secondary that cannot play as much as a primary should join a guild. That does not mean you cannot put your sometimes played secondary in the guild. I just don't see why you would want to. As for my own secondary which was once a member, I could not play him enough for him to be considered much of a Viking so in fact I took him out. You are welcome to the same freedom. If you don't play them, we really don't want them, for this is a guild that promotes grouping and playing.
.No taxes and no limitations. We don't encourage the powerleveling, or twinking of unexperienced players but we won't keep you from doing it either. We have no taxes as of yet and we don't believe in them. It is hard to enforce taxes in a guild and is very time consuming when dealing with fairness issues. Plus, it is a pure form of twinking and our guild isn't a twinking guild. We are a good old boy guild that plays for fun. We do have plans to have a war chest but do not have any plans to make it mandatory participation. As far as helping people out, I would say to help them out as much as u feel u should. I highly discourage giving all your platinum away to somebody who never plays. Be careful and don't waste your resources. There are plenty of people who are loyal to the guild and play enough to warrant giving charity to. This is only an offense worth kicking someone else out over in the event that someone says you have to give something or do something for them. Remember, you don't have to do shit. Though, when the time comes that you need their help, don't expect to get it.
.Rules are subject to change upon amendment from guild leader, officers, and approval of majority members who are present at the guild meeting when the amendment is made. Any amendment can be brought up during a guild meeting but it should at least be brought up to an officer before the meeting because officers schedule the meetings and have traditionally been responsible for what is to be talked about. This will also help us to make posts for what is to be discussed at the guild meeting. So for good voter turnout, we encourage you to present rule changes to at least one officer before a meeting or at least post it on the website yourself for things to talk about at the meeting. Don't fear being kicked out over this one though, its not a felony offense. Sometimes shit happens and we understand. This one is more of a posting than it is a rule. But by all means, try to make it so.
.All members are expected to respect the blacklist. If a member is screwed over by someone then that person screwed over the whole Viking family.
