Misery

By: Raven-Chan

Misery...
Killing me...
Beating me down...
Into the Ground...
Somethings gone wrong...
It's killing me...
It's Misery...

Vincent Valentine let his breath escape. He had waited for hours , his quill pen in hand. He waited for something to come. These last few days had brought him nothing. The world had been saved, but what now?

When the poem finally came, he let it flow through him, to his pen, then to the piece of parchment that he was using. Only after it was written, did he look back at it.

It was perfect, he thought to himself. With three quick strokes of the pen, he titled the poem 'Misery' at the top.

As he looked at it, he knew. He knew it was him. He was in misery. He had served his purpose... and what for? He would never be truely human again.

No. Never.

He would never again feel Lucretia's soft touch...

No. Never.

He would never again holding her in his arms...

No. Never.

He picked up a sharp piece of glass that laid beside his desk. With so deliberation, he cut open his wrist. He felt no pain. Then, he dipped his pen into the blood that was flowing off his wrist.

He took the pen slowly, and signed his name with his blood. The bright red words 'Vincent Valentine' stood out bold on the parchment.

He then took his gun off the desk, and held it stiffly... And the blood flowed...

He stuck the gun under his chin... and the blood flowed...

He pulled his finger to the trigger... And the gun flowed...

Silence the demon inside you, Vincent...

And the blood flowed...

Then, he pulled the trigger. The bullet pierced his head. Then everything was black...

...And the blood flowed...
